Thank you for cleaning my user page.

I thank you enormously for protecting my userpage and reverting the rather bigoted vandalism made to it. -RadicalOne---Contact Me 22:16, 15 December 2009 (UTC)

No problem, glad I could help :) CalumH93 (talk) 22:17, 15 December 2009 (UTC)

Speedy template removed : Ramanattam

Hi,

I have removed the CSD A7 template you had placed on Ramanattam. The article is about an art form and not about any club, company or organisation. Please PROD it or take it to the AfD if required -- Raziman T V (talk) 11:10, 18 December 2009 (UTC)

I have removed the db tag from this page pro tem, as the author is asking what's required to keep it (answer, sources, which on a quick Google I don't see). It was a doubtful A7 anyway, as it could be argued that there is a credible claim of importance in the article - for A7, that's enough, it doesn't have to be sourced. There's good advice about speedy tagging at WP:A7M and WP:10CSD. Keep up the good work - New Page Patrol needs all the eyes it can get! Regards, JohnCD (talk) 12:37, 18 December 2009 (UTC)

To keep you informed: on further checking, I think this is a hoax and I have PRODded it - all checks come up blank, and there was an earlier version in October which the author (actually RhysGapper (talk · contribs) that time) blanked when it was PRODded. It still wouldn't be a speedy, though - if it takes half an hour checking, as it has taken me, it's not blatant enough for WP:CSD#G3. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 18:54, 18 December 2009 (UTC)

Declined speedy deletion of Arayat Institute

Hi CalumH93! I have declined your speedy deletion tag of Arayat Institute. Please note that WP:CSD#A7 specifically excludes schools. If you still believe the article should be deleted, please consider WP:PROD or WP:AfD instead. Also, please note that even if schools were not exempt, I would still have declined the speedy as the article has a credible claim of importance or significance of the subject. Singularity42 (talk) 17:40, 18 December 2009 (UTC)

Use of speedy deletion tags

I've looked through your history and talk page a bit, and I've noticed a number of declined speedy deletion tags. I think it's pretty important to only tag an article for speedy deletion if you are absolutely sure it meets the criteria at WP:CSD. If not, consider PROD or AfD instead. If you want, I can help answer some of your questions regarding the use of the some of the more common SD criteria. Singularity42 (talk) 17:43, 18 December 2009 (UTC)

Tachyon

I deeply apologize for my change to the wiki article entitled: Tachyon. I was going to change it right back. It was being used to prove a point in an argument on the subject of Wikiality. It was not my intent to deface the site, nor to discredit the information therein. I appreciate you taking the time to fix the page for me. You truly are one of the unsung hero's of this generation. Have a nice day. <3 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.105.12.5 (talk) 11:23, 12 January 2010 (UTC)

Why did you undo my revision?

Seriously, the Daleks did not play any major role besides a brief mention in the episode "The Waters of Mars." Watch it yourself if you don't believe me. (or just look at the article for it. The Waters of Mars) :D Ilikefood (talk) 19:10, 10 April 2010 (UTC)

Your revison was undone as they did appear in the episode "The Waters of Mars". Quote form waters of mars page - "Adelaide is shown in a flashback of her experiences as a young girl during the events of "The Stolen Earth", where her father put her in an attic to keep her safe from the Dalek invasion. Though a Dalek observed her through the attic window, it did not attack her; the Doctor presumes that the Dalek spared Adelaide because it realized that her death was a fixed point in time."
Whether it was a big role or not they did appear on screen. Thanks CalumH93 (talk) 19:17, 10 April 2010 (UTC)

ACC: Check User Needed

As you are not a Check User, you cannot look into these on the tool.

They are accounts which have been requested from an IP which is part of a range which have been blocked by a Check User. They can only be created if a check user leaves a message saying so!

It is a new feature of the tool, so many users are being confused by it, so I thought I'd contact you!

Incidently, members of the Account Creation Team can be talked to in IRC at #wikipedia-en-accounts connect, should you want to discuss the requests - you would be most welcome to join us! -- PhantomSteve/talk|contribs\ 23:10, 28 April 2010 (UTC)

  • Follow-up: the username policy does not forbid "real" names being used (unless impersonating someone else) nor does it say that people cannot sign up using their work email addresses. In that request, the email address was the work address for the named individual - and a note can always be left explaining conflict of interest (as an example, the template I use for this is User:Phantomsteve/coi - which explains how he *could* edit articles about himself or his workplace by discussion on the talk page, or a request for a new article.
I have left comments on the request, explaining what I have done: I have contacted the requester saying that there was a problem which caused an email to be sent, but that it was being looked into, and that he would hear with a definite yes or no soon (although it may take a day or so) (If you are on the mailing list, you'll see the exact wording). I didn't say to the requester, but at the moment, we are waiting for a CU to check and give the "yea" or "nay". -- PhantomSteve/talk|contribs\ 23:26, 28 April 2010 (UTC)
No problem, sorry about the confusion, still not 100% with the new check user section, i'll leave it alone from now on! Thanks for the heads up. Also, i had no objection to the email address being work, it was because the name was of a real person. Will be more careful from now on. Thanks Again. CalumH93 (talk) 23:33, 28 April 2010 (UTC)
No worries - and thanks for taking this in the spirit in which it was given! As for real names, although there is a section at WP:USERNAME about it (WP:REALNAME), it merely mentions the possible drawbacks, not actually banning it! -- PhantomSteve/talk|contribs\ 23:39, 28 April 2010 (UTC)

WP:ACC

Please can you tell me what you did incorrectly here? Thanks Stwalkerstertalk ] 15:48, 29 April 2010 (UTC)

Sure no problem. Looking at it - the reason I reopened was I clicked SUL taken as opposed to similar by mistake. However, looking at it now I believe I should have created the account. The account it was similar to only had 2 edits which were both over a year ago. At the time I was still learning the tools as I was relatively new so was being a little to cautious. Sorry about the mistake. Please tell me if I am still in the wrong here, as i'm always happy to learn? Thanks CalumH93|talk 16:19, 29 April 2010 (UTC)
Create would have been the correct course of action :) Stwalkerstertalk ] 15:25, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
