March 2008[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Cyrille Regis do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Jameboy (talk) 14:53, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you own or have access to the More than a Game DVD, it would be great if you could cite specific information from it, in order to improve Cyrille Regis and other articles on Christian footballers. But simply including it as a link for its own sake isn't appropriate and looks like advertising. --Jameboy (talk) 15:40, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with File:Badgergoss.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Badgergoss.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by STBotI. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 14:56, 23 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

June 2009[edit]

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Hamstone. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by some search engines, including Google. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Old Moonraker (talk) 21:19, 3 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Ernest.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only," "non-derivative use" or "used with permission," it has not been shown to comply with the limited standards for the use of non-free content. [1], and it was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19, or is not used in any articles. If you agree with the deletion, there is no need to do anything. If, however, you believe that this image may be retained on Wikipedia under one of the permitted conditions then:

  • state clearly the source of the image. If it has been copied from elsewhere on the web you should provide links to: the image itself, the page which uses it and the page which contains the license conditions.
  • add the relevant copyright tag.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 22:47, 5 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Possibly unfree File:Julialockwood.jpg[edit]

A file that you uploaded or altered, File:Julialockwood.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree files because its copyright status is unclear or disputed. If the file's copyright status cannot be verified, it may be deleted. You may find more information on the file description page. You are welcome to add comments to its entry at the discussion if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. --J Milburn (talk) 23:26, 5 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding File:Julialockwood.jpg, Wikipedia only accepts images where the copyright holder explicitly licenses the image under an acceptable license - preferably the Creative Commons attribution/sharealike 3.0 license. Simply having permission from the copyright holder is not sufficient. Also, you should not claim to be the copyright holder unless you, personally, are the copyright holder. If you do have permission from the copyright holder for File:Julialockwood.jpg to be released under the CC-BY-SA license or another acceptable license, please forward that statement of permission to permissions-en@wikimedia.org. Wikipedia:COPYREQ#Declaration_of_consent_for_all_enquiries has a statement that the copyright holder may submit if they would like some legalese. If you are able to obtain a suitable release for this image, please let me know and I will restore it. There are two other images that you have uploaded. Are you, personally, the photographer, meaning you took it with your own camera and you own the copyright? If not, the same applies to them as well. --B (talk) 05:36, 18 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File copyright problem with File:Hamstonewall.JPG[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Hamstonewall.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Chris G Bot (talk) 00:09, 11 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for January 8[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Young People's Trust for the Environment, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page MP. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
