WikiProjects protect the right of people to peacefully collaborate in groups[edit]

There will always be disagreements in the world.

In WikiProjects some people will want to collaborate with each other. Some others in the world may object, and that is okay.

No one should be afraid to bring their ideas or have their meetings in a WikiProject space. WikiProjects are community centers, where various groups of different beliefs, even groups of people who do not agree with each other, should all be able to meet peacefully.

When a group of people meet in a WikiProject then that makes them visible, and by being visible, they become vulnerable for anyone who watches the WikiProject to challenge ideas which differ from their own. A difference of ideas, debate, or varying opinions is fine, but any confrontation should be friendly, and if ideas are irreconcilable, then the groups are better left alone without one continuously protesting the other.

Wikipedia should be a safe space for peaceful coexistence, especially for people who form groups to collaborate and wish to work together to advance the goals of a WikiProject. Blue Rasberry (talk) 10:56, 3 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
