Voiced upper-pharyngeal stop moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Voiced upper-pharyngeal stop, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. August 2020[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. I am glad to see that you are discussing a topic. However, as a general rule, talk pages such as Talk:Voiced glottal fricative are for discussion related to improving the article in specific ways based on reliable sources and the project policies and guidelines, not for general discussion about the topic or unrelated topics, or statements based on your thoughts or feelings. If you have specific questions about certain topics, consider visiting our reference desk and asking them there instead of on article talk pages. Megaman en m (talk) 15:44, 1 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Well, may be I will remove discussion about modally voiced glottal transition on voiced glottal fricative talk page. Thank you so much. Blockman9000 (talk) 19:05, 1 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Are voiced glottal and epiglottal/pharyngeal stops really possible sounds?[edit]

Are voiced glottal and epiglottal/pharyngeal stops really possible sounds? I think no, just because the voiced glottal "stop" is actually an approximant and the voiced epiglottal/pharyngeal "stop" is actually a tap/flap. Blockman9000 (talk) 09:17, 3 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Both are by definition impossible but not for the reason you mentioned. Try reading Voice Quality: The Laryngeal Articulator Model. Nardog (talk) 10:26, 3 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I am able to articulate a voiced epiglottal stop Macy Sinrich (talk) 15:06, 3 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
How? Blockman9000 (talk) 16:42, 3 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@MacySinrich: Do you have a published WP:Reliable source that says so? Otherwise that sounds like WP:Original research. —DIYeditor (talk) 02:07, 4 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
First off, I meaning myself. Am able to pronounce it. I can maybe provide a file for it but a source has nothing to do with my comment. Macy Sinrich (talk) 15:57, 4 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Nardog: I created a new discussion in my talk page about some punctuation marks in the names of taxa. Blockman9000 (talk) 21:28, 8 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

What do mean some symbols near the name of a taxon?[edit]

What do question mark (?) and quotation marks (" ") mean near the name of a taxon, such as "Lobopodia" and in Wiwaxia page, Mollusca (?) ? Blockman9000 (talk) 21:25, 8 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please go to Wikipedia:Reference desk for inquiries like this. Also familiarize yourself with WP:NOTFORUM. Nardog (talk) 00:01, 9 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Nardog: Thank you

Capitalization and names of letters[edit]

Hi. I've just edited a few articles on Hebrew letters that you made changes to in the last couple of hours. You'd capitalized the names of some of the letters in headings. I've undone those changes (and lower-cased a few instances that I don't think were your doing) because names of letters aren't proper names, and Wikipedia section headings use sentence casing, as called for at MOS:HEADCASE. February 2024[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Sinclairian. I noticed that you recently removed content from Yodh without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Sinclairian (talk) 19:56, 9 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did at Gimel, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use your sandbox for that. Thank you.
