Commentary on the 2002 French Presidential Elections, Wrong way elections table at the Center for Range Voting...

Blocked[edit]

I've blocked you for 24 hours for link spamming. You also did break the three revert rule, although I suspect you did not know about this. When you return, take a look at WP:LINKS for a guidline as to the kind of links that can be used on the encyclopedia. Ryan Postlethwaite 14:32, 6 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

WARNING: Do not edit war.[edit]

Previously you were blocked for alleged linkspam; the blocking administrator noted that you had violated the three-revert rule, and you should read that carefully. The purpose of the 3RR rule is to prevent edit warring from going beyond certain limits, and 3RR is not a permission to make three reverts, you can be blocked for edit warring with less than that. Of greatest concern to me, as a neutral editor, is that you are using the Undo tool without explanation and without, apparently, an effort to reach consensus with other editors. You have, most recently, used Undo to repeatedly revert other editors. This is edit warring, generally, and can result in an immediate block if you continue, even if you do not violate 3RR. The safest thing for you to do at this point is to undo your own revert. This does not prejudice the issue, you could, after discussion, reassert your edit, and if you have shown a good faith effort -- and good faith should be presumed -- to find agreement, an isolated revert, explained, shouldn't cause you problems. But just pressing that Undo button repeatedly, as you have, could get you blocked, quickly. --Abd (talk) 13:50, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits[edit]

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 15:19, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You are a Conflict of Interest editor with regard to your own web site.[edit]

Please read WP:COI regarding editors with a conflict of interest. You have acknowledged that the web site, a link to which you attempted to insert, is your own web site. (I didn't notice this before.) This explains why you were blocked for violation of WP:LINKSPAM. I don't think the block was correct, you should have been warned first, and only blocked if you continued. As a COI editor, you should refrain from placing links to your own site: instead, you may suggest it, and even argue (politely) for it, in article Talk. Let an uninvolved editor put it in the article, if it is to be there. Do *not* edit war over it, and do *not* attempt to retaliate by removing other links you consider inappropriate (compared to your own). There may or may not be a problem with other links, and editorial consensus can set aside guidelines if it is considered best for the article and the project. If you continue to argue incivilly for your position, you could be blocked, even without edit warring. --Abd (talk) 15:50, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Small thing: how to sign your Talk edits.[edit]

With this edit you removed the autosignature and replaced it with a manually entered name and time. That's not only a waste of time for you, but it could result in timing errors, and it makes it more cumbersome for other editors to contact you. You should sign your Talk posts, generally, with four tildes: in your edit screen, it looks like this: ~~~~ . I usually prefix it with two hyphens, but that's just my preference. I already mentioned this in one of my responses to you, so maybe I'm wasting my time, but this is just in case you overlooked it. When you sign with the tildes, the system, when saving the edit, automatically substitutes links to your user page, your talk page, and the system time of the edit. (Because the autosignature program did not recognize your manually entered signature, it put a signature in for you, and it may continue to do that if someone else doesn't add more material after your edit first.) (If you want to put in your user name and talk page alone, without the system time, somewhere, you can use three tildes instead of four.) --Abd (talk) 20:45, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You are right. In the post, I first saved then I remember I forgot to sign with the 4 tildes. That's why I correct my post, but the timer changed during this moment. -Blanchisserie 08:16, 10 June 2008 (UTC)-
Ah! I suspect you have your user preference set for signature to "Blanchisserie" -- this then will substitute for the links to user page and talk page that are expected for signatures. Blank that in your preferences, if I'm correct, and all will be well. --Abd (talk) 14:29, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
