K thanx

That template helps plenty! I actually haven't been typing...out...the whole...reference tag, that would take forever. Copy, paste, edit the flavor text (I actually had the Game Dex out this morning), and voila! But you're right, that does help. Less text. I do wish I knew more of the nuts and bolts around here. That's why I usually do minor edits or just screw around on the sandbox.

You know what would be awesome? If you could send Wikiluv via a Pokemon. (And I mean cute ones, not simply Luvdisc.) :P -WarthogDemon 23:44, 24 February 2010 (UTC)

Pokedex template

You know, the one you sent me? Where do I put it? Putting it in the text is screwy. Do I put it in the References section? RSVP. 2J Bäkkvire Maestro communications accomplishments 14:10, 27 February 2010 (UTC)

RE:RE:RE:RE: whatever you keep REing me about

One last thing from me: thanks for the tips for referencing. And about my talkpage: I can be kind of obsessive-compulsive about it. That is a good idea to leave the thing there for a day before moving it to my archive. And the RQQ? Nobody would find it if it wasn't where it was. It's just my way of surreal-ifying everyone's day. I apologize, but if it's my userspace, I have every right to do anything lawful there. Thanx! 2J Bäkkvire Maestro communications accomplishments 15:46, 27 February 2010 (UTC)

Nintendo task force membership update

Hello,

It's that time again to update membership status with the Nintendo task force, which we try to do every 3-4 months (though it's been actually 6 months since the last one) to keep our membership up-to-date.

All participants have been placed on an "Inactive participants" list. To confirm that you're still a member of the Nintendo task force, simply go to Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games/Nintendo#Members and move your name from the "Inactive participants" list to the bottom of the "Active participants" list. If you are no longer an active member in the task force, you may simply remove your name altogether. After 1 month, on 1 April 2010, all entries under the "Inactive participants" list will be removed. Hopefully you can stay with us and continue to work on Nintendo-related articles. Regards, –MuZemike 17:27, 1 March 2010 (UTC)

Another great Thanx

I only come here about half an hour on weekdays, so if there are vandals, I can't catch them. Luckily, "I get by with a little help from my friends". You're only one of them to thank. 2J Bäkkvire Maestro communications accomplishments 22:34, 1 March 2010 (UTC)

Barnstar

Thank you very much for the barnstar. Having resigned myself to the fact that my favorite, Blaziken, will most likely never have an article, I simply went looking for a Generation I that would be easier to find info on. I ended up with Caterpie; my University library actually proved quite useful. Anyway, in short, thank you profusely for the award and the kind, all-caps words. Cheers! Re: Lists of Pokémon

Well, I think it was needed, although not in the way I did, should be up-to-date about every news that is announced, even with the announcement of two Pokémon, which is a huge advance in the Pokémon series, meaning that a long-waited new Generation is about to unfold. Anyways, I agree, WikiProject Pokémon should think of something, and I should sign up at it, now that I think about it... --FredZ (talk) 15:29, 2 March 2010 (UTC)

  • What information is needed? Sorry I'm sleepy. --FredZ (talk) 15:43, 2 March 2010 (UTC)
  • I think I get it now, are you suggesting to create a whole article for a single Pokémon? I hope I got it right before I go to sleep. Hm, that article looks good, a stub, considering we have little information about them, yet a complete one, you should give it a try. --FredZ (talk) 16:06, 2 March 2010 (UTC) (edit: Nevermind, got it now) --FredZ (talk) 16:09, 2 March 2010 (UTC)
  • Fair enough, I'll try to help. --FredZ (talk) 16:34, 2 March 2010 (UTC)
  • I'm talking about the next Pokémon revealed. --FredZ (talk) 16:34, 2 March 2010 (UTC)

Hints from a Rollbacker

Hello, Blake! I see you often revert vandalism on Pokemon pages. You might already know this, but after reverting said vandalism, you should notify the vandal on their talk page with a warning template. For example,

{{subst:vandal1}}

produces

Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and it has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you may want to do. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia..

Adding an underscore and the article title afterward states what page was vandalized.

Like I said, you likely already knew this, but sometimes you forget to warn them. Keep up the good work, fellow Trainer!

Yah, a lot of times I don't have time to go on each person's page and post a message. I just want to make sure the pages are their best. Blake (Talk·Edits) 02:28, 30 March 2010 (UTC)
Hey there Blake! I just happened along your talk page and saw this thread and thought I'd recommend Twinkle to you. It's like using rollback, but it gives you the option to provide an edit summary. It also automatically opens the vandal's talk page in a new tab with a drop-down box that lets you select which kind of warning template to tag it with. It makes tagging vandals' talk pages much faster, which leads to more efficient blocking of repeat offenders. I don't mean this to sound like an advert or anything, but Twinkle will change your wikilife for the better! Well, cheers and I hope you'll give Twinkle a try. sesuprime 02:05, 7 July 2010 (UTC)

blanked page

Hi Bws2cool, this is a message from an automated bot, regarding Talk:Caterpie, Metapod, and Butterfree. You blanked the page and, since you are its sole author, FrescoBot has interpreted it as a request for deletion of the page and asked administrators to satisfy the requests per speedy deletion criterion G7. Next time you want a page that you've created deleted, you can explicitly request the deletion by inserting the text {{db-author}}. If you didn't want the page deleted, please remove the {{db-author}} tag from the page and undo your blanking or put some content in the page. Admins are able to recover deleted pages. Please do not contact the bot operator for issues not related with bot's behaviour. To opt out of these bot messages, add {{bots|deny=FrescoBot}} somewhere on your talk page. -- FrescoBot (msg) 00:38, 17 April 2010 (UTC)

When you made the edit to Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Minis March Again!, you also removed the information and not only the headings, so why did you undo the edits that I made to that page? Keyboard mouse (talk) 04:01, 27 April 2010 (UTC)

Pokemon References

Although you've touted the benefits of adding third-party reception, is it perfectly acceptable to receive material from the Pokedeces (plural of Pokedex) onto the assorted lists? And when is it OK to remove the "additional references" banner? 2D Backfire Master Serious? Nope. 12:35, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

Furthermore, on this list, and maybe others, some references have a different appearance than others. Some start with Pokedex in bold like that, while others begin with the game title. I need answers! 2D Backfire Master Serious? Nope. 13:02, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

Plagiarism?

Is it plagiarism, or just frowned-upon cut n' paste, when there is verbatim text from a Pokedex in the article? And does it make a difference if there's a source or not? 2D Backfire Master tempus fugit 21:44, 5 May 2010 (UTC)

Eh, well, it would be better if it was reworded, but using the same exact sentence isn't that bad. It just needs to be reworded if we ever try and make them Featured Lists or something.(which will never happen in 5 years) It isn't like we are taking paragraphs from a guidebook for a gameplay section of a game. It is just a few sentences from the Pokedex, which we use as the source anyways. Blake (Talk·Edits) 00:57, 6 May 2010 (UTC)

Hi Bws2cool: An IP address (75.28.54.40) copied information from one your user pages to a redirect page, thereby creating an article without going thru the New Article list. Being on RCP, I reverted the edit because the no explanation was provided about where the info came from, and I only discovered your user page thru a later search. The IP address undid my reversion and sent me a message. I guess the question is--did the IP address act with your knowledge and authorization? I just wanted to let you know as the activity looked suspicious to me, and I did not want to get into a reversion war with an IP address over info I was not familiar with. Just wanted to let you know about the activity as a friendly heads-up. Regards Pinethicket (talk) 08:59, 30 May 2010 (UTC)

You and salavat seem to be involved in an edit war with 75.25.103.109 over this article, yeah I know he can be annoying (he called me a meatpuppet for reverting him), but you've got to stop edit warring before you both get banned, please come to the talk page and try to settle things with him--Lerdthenerd (talk) 19:20, 2 July 2010 (UTC)
