Unreferenced BLPs[edit]

Hello Arwel Parry! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. Please note that all biographies of living persons must be sourced. If you were to add reliable, secondary sources to this article, it would greatly help us with the current 941 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Martin Bell - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Service awards proposal[edit]

Master Editor Hello, Arwel Parry/archive 12! I noticed you display a service award, and would like to invite you to join the discussion over a proposed revamping of the awards.

If you have any opinions on the proposal, please participate in the discussion. Thanks! — the Man in Question (in question) 00:44, 9 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is History of British film certificates. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/History of British film certificates. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:09, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Unsolicited Hello[edit]

Hi. Sorry for the unsolicited message but I noticed your comments in a discussion on the Language reference desk. I'm an American and very interested in Celtic languages and cultures and I couldn't resist saying hi once I notice that you're a native Welsh speaker. I've always been fascinated by the language and very much hope it maintains its strength in Wales. Nothing else, just wanted to say that :) Kind regards, DPR (达伟 is my Chinese name as I'm a student of Asian studies.)--达伟 (talk) 12:00, 10 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What's up?[edit]

What's up? It's me user:hephaestos. I'm back and I'm not Johnny the Vandal. I just had to change my name because I lost my password to my Hephaestos. Well, take care! John Maynard Robinson (talk) 03:39, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Has the image permission for this been renewed with the Bank of England? If so, the page needs to be updated, if not, the renewal needs to be chased up. As you have done it regularly in the past I was wondering whether you knew anything about it? Regards, Woody (talk) 22:36, 3 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, would you be so kind as to give us support![edit]

Hello, I hope you're doing fine and I sincerely apologize for this intrusion. I've just read your profile, saw you wrote about the Barça and that you speak Welsh, so I guess you can understand what it is to use a minorized language and maybe I am not bothering you and you will help us... I'm part of an association "Amical de la Viquipèdia" which is trying to get some recognition as a Catalan Chapter but this hasn't been approved up to that moment. We would appreciate your support, visible if you stick this on your first page: Wikimedia CAT. Supporting us will be like supporting some of the goals of the Barça and may help Welsh in the future! Thanks again, wishing you a great summer, take care! Capsot (talk) 20:53, 8 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Accident - i'm just starting to use an iPad, and my finger hit the wrong part of the screen on my watchlist! Sorry, and thanks for reverting. -- Arwel Parry (talk) 12:12, 22 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Man Utd Talk[edit]

Hi, why on earth did you remove my posts on the Manchester United talk page? As an admin you should know better. Tom (talk) 13:17, 28 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry - accident. On an iPad "rollback" on tne watchlist appears right under "hist" - just managed to hit the wrong link, and people notice before you get a chance to revert yourself! -- Arwel Parry (talk) 13:35, 28 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ah righteo! Got one myself and I know they take a bit of getting used to. Sorry for jumping down your neck. Tom (talk) 13:19, 30 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:EURion20GBP.JPG[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:EURion20GBP.JPG. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. J Milburn (talk) 00:01, 24 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Tegetthoff references[edit]

Hey there. It seems you have created the article Tegetthoff class battleship. The info you added back in 2004 is fine, but I'd like to know what reference you got it from, as me and User:White Shadows are trying to push it towords GA. Buggie111 (talk) 14:12, 2 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Gosh, I can't recall after 6 years. Probably something on an Austrian website somewhere... -- Arwel Parry (talk) 20:12, 3 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Well, looks like your still around. I was kind of afraid this wouldt be replied to, but all is fine. Sure, I'll go look up the the Tegg's in Hungarian and Austrian. TY. Buggie111 (talk) 23:05, 3 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A Reply to your "Commenting on articles" rant on my Talk Page[edit]

First of all, wouldn't even be here had you not stalked me to see what I was up to. You apparently found a comment I made on either the Ian Paisley or Bam Margera page, I'm guessing you found the Ian Paisley comment then snooped to find the Margera comment. You do what you like as far as signing in, requesting I sign in is not really your place despite your wonderful Wiki titles, nor is it a requirement for commenting in a Wiki Discussion page. How old the discussion pages are, and the age of the comments previous to my own also have no bearing on my ability to comment. Yet for some reason you think you need to advice me that "it is extremely unlikely that anyone will notice or react to your contributions." First of all, again not your concern, second it is likely that many will notice what is in the discussion page. As far as a reaction? One never knows... I often see discussions revived from four or more years old. Next time I come across one I'll drop you a link to it.

So if it is your station in life to follow me about and leave me little bit and pieces of irrelevant information, by all means enjoy yourself! But please keep the semi-authoritative tone to a minimum. I was, once upon a time, an actual sign in and chime in member of Wikipedia myself. But after a rather constant battle around 2004 with an over zealous, over the top editor about how he/she was treating a very minor article and it's author, completely disgusted by the treatment of a obvious first time contributer, and the direction Wiki was heading, I dropped out. So to lecture me or anyone for that matter on signing in, or age of discussion is a sure sign you either are a bit too bored, or take yourself entirely too seriously. As for your contributions, I admire anyone who sticks to the tedious task of contributing an article, or adding relevant information to an existing article. The process has evolved to nearly impossible standards on some subjects. But as always, I completely disagree with commenting to others about their discussions. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.17.215.115 (talk) 03:03, 26 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
