February 2018[edit]

Please do not add multiple links for the same wiki article as you have done, twice, at List of children of the Presidents of the United States. This is called WP:OVERLINKING and is unnecessary. DerbyCountyinNZ (Talk Contribs) 03:19, 9 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion discussion about Octavia Taylor[edit]

Hello, AprilShowersBringMayFlowers,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Octavia Taylor should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Octavia Taylor .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Thanks,

Enwebb (talk) 01:16, 11 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome![edit]

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. The following links will help you begin editing on Wikipedia:

Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:

The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! Shearonink (talk) 20:29, 23 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I appreciate your editing zeal but some of your recent edits to Wikipedia have removed or deleted reliable sources or have used sources that are unreliable (geni.com & findagrave) or do not always have sources. Please be careful about sources & referencing in your future editing. Thanks, Shearonink (talk) 20:31, 23 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Robin Bush (daughter of George H. W. Bush)[edit]

Hello AprilShowersBringMayFlowers,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Robin Bush (daughter of George H. W. Bush) for deletion, because it doesn't appear to contain any encyclopedic content. Take a look at our suggestions for essential content in short articles to learn what should be included.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

CASSIOPEIA(talk) 11:58, 26 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

This edit to John Parke Custis ended up being kind of mangled. I went ahead and fixed it. Not sure why you added "citation needed" as the various diseases that could be "camp fever" are all referenced in various sources, so I added a ref & deleted "citation needed". Speedy deletion nomination of Childbed (disambiguation)[edit]

Speedy deletion nomination of Childbed (disambiguation)[edit]

Hello AprilShowersBringMayFlowers,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Childbed (disambiguation) for deletion. This has been done under section G6 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an unnecessary disambiguation page.

If you feel that the page shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Hi, I see you added a {{refimprove}} template to the article on Mary Jackson (engineer). Can you be more specific about what you feel is poorly sourced? GorillaWarfare (talk) 22:23, 9 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Sarah Knox Taylor[edit]

Greetings. With this edit you asked for clarification on the statement about Sarah dying just three months after her marriage to Davis. What needs clarification here? Omnedon (talk) 17:05, 13 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

March 2018[edit]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

I noticed your recent edit to Angela Lansbury does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → check Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! Edison (talk) 21:09, 13 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hash vs hashtag[edit]

Hash and hashtag have different meanings and are not inter-changeable. The former is a punctuation mark and the latter is a metadata tag used on social media. Also, the number sign article is specifically about the punctuation mark. "Hashtag" and "Sharp (music)" use the same symbol but are not punctuation marks, that's why they have their own articles and should not be stated to be a name for the punctuation mark in the lead of the number sign article. Random redirects[edit]

Hi,

Recently you have created several redirects in the ways not used, and even disapproved in wikipedia. PLease do not create redirects unless it is really necessary. Even better, do not create them until you become more familiar with wikipedia conventions and guidelines. Staszek Lem (talk) 21:10, 26 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Wikipedia:UNRELIABLESOURCE listed at Redirects for discussion[edit]

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Wikipedia:UNRELIABLESOURCE. Since you had some involvement with the Wikipedia:UNRELIABLESOURCE redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so. Ways to improve Fannie Jacobs[edit]

Hi, I'm Rosguill. AprilShowersBringMayFlowers, thanks for creating Fannie Jacobs!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Currently the article has a very long quote in the middle. Consider replacing the quote with a summary highlighting Jacobs's political positions as expressed in the quote.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.
