Welcome to the AMA![edit]

File:AMA logo.png

Hello AndonicO, I see that you have decided to join the AMA. I'll be the first to say welcome! We're always in need of more advocates, especially since were backlogged most of the time. Before heading into your first case, please take some time to familiarize yourself with the AMA FAQ's, the Guide to Advocacy, and the AMA Handbook.

Just a few pointers for what we do. We communicate by putting a template on our talk page. The template is {{AMA alerts}}. The AMA also has it's own IRC channel, which reports new cases and alerts to us. It can also be used as a place to ask for advice on an issue. If you'd like to jump right into a case, you are free to check out AMA Requests for Assistance, which is our new request for advocacy system. The instructions for how the technical part works is on it's talk page. You can also use the AMA userboxes that appear under here. If you have anymore questions about the organization, just ping any advocate's talk page, including our coordinator Steve Caruso or deputy coordinators Wikiwoohoo and Aeon. Again, welcome to the AMA! -Royalguard11(Talk·Desk·Review Me!) 19:53, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I do have a page in Vicipaedia anglais, but I don't speak any french.--Ioshus(talk) 19:55, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I go to a couple wikipedias just to read as well. Feel free to make mistakes, but just ask someone. We're always happy to help with Latin and with any pertinent historical/cultural questions. We have templates too for beginners...see la:Formula:Tiro, and la:Formula:Reddenda. Peace, man.--Ioshus(talk) 20:14, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
In+fecta = in is a privative, fecta is a past participle of facere (facere usually takes a past participle as factus, but in compounds it becomes fecta). So infecta means "poorly made".--Ioshus(talk) 20:33, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your page[edit]

If you don't add the |thumb| to your image you won't get that white space and it would lose that little infobox at the bottom. -- ~D-Lord (Sign!) (TCE) 21:50, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

1337[edit]

Leet is just the shortening of words and phrases using computer text. Alot of people use it on talk channels or computer games so that they get their message across faster. If you click here or if you already clicked on the first time I put the link up you learn more about it from the world's number one source of encyclopedic information. I prefer not to use computer talk myself or slang in real life, because I like to try to be as sophistcated and formal as possible when talking as you can tell by my expansive vocabulary in this sentence, but sometimes my environment gets the better of me. Hope that you stay as ignorant as you are about computer talk, and slang as you seem so that you remain formal and don't let your environment ever get the better of you. About the Lifting and Creating[edit]

I was leaving a message on Why1991's userpage and noticed your question about omnipotent beings. The verdict: False. They can create anything, but they can also lift anything, and in a mathematical equasion, X will represent the omnipotent being and Y will represent 'anything'. X > Y, because if he can lift anything it's always possible to lift any anything he makes. Happy New Year!FF7Freakzorz 01:48, 12 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Paradox, Sequel[edit]

These are the two laws: He can create anything. He can lift anything. Nowhere does it say that he can create something he can't lift. There is nothing that he can't lift, and therefore the anything he can create can be lifted by him. God, now I'm confusing myself. Happy New Year!FF7Freakzorz 05:29, 13 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re. A little help?[edit]

Sure, but what's the correct name after all, "Crab" or "Crabs"? When you move an article to a new location, its previous one automatically becomes a redirect, that's why moving back can't be performed unless an administrator deletes the redirect as housekeeping and makes the move. I'll do that as soon as you confirm the correct name coz I got a lil bit confused in the end. By the way, this article is quite spammy, it reads pretty much like an advertisement. Also, sources from the restaurant itself are rather inappropiate as per WP:EL. Regards,--Húsönd 20:44, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have now deleted Joe's Stone Crab. You may create a redirect there if you find it necessary. Regards,--Húsönd 20:52, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RFA[edit]

Hey! Thanks for your confidence in me. Almost 2 months ago I had my first nomination for RFA which I accepted. There were a fairly large number of Supports with most Oppose votes coming from my lack of time involved with the project. Overall, the Supports and Opposes were almost equal (which I felt good it wasent a snowball in the Oppose direction) I since then have had several people ask if I am ready to accept a nomination. Trust me, I am honored that you think I am ready, and would like nothing more than to be, however I would like to wait a little bit longer before giving it another shot. I hope you can understand! When the time comes, I would very much appreciate your input as a nominator or a co-nominator! Thanks again for your confidence in me. -- Chrislk02 (Chris Kreider) 13:16, 23 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Watching the day's Featured Article[edit]

I've responded to your request for this feature on WP:US. Does User:ais523/watchTFA.js do what you want (it adds a toolbox link, because there would be problems with keeping track of whether it had been done or not yet if it tried to do it automatically)? --ais523 18:04, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

If you change || alert(x.statusText)); to || alert(x.statusText + ': ' + bundle.url));, what error message does it give you then? (The script's working for me at the moment, so that should help to identify why there's an error for you.) Also, what browser are you using? --ais523 18:25, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
The change I asked you to make (and which you've made correctly) is meant to modify the error message; try bypassing your cache and trying again to see if the error message comes out differently. --ais523 18:31, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
Strangely, assuming all the error message appeared in the alert box, the latter part of the URL seems to have been truncated for no reason at all (which would cause the error you've been seeing if correct). If you enter the year manually by changing '%2C_'+d.getYear()+'&action=raw' to '%2C_2007&action=raw', and bypass your cache, does that fix the problem (at least until 2008)? --ais523 18:40, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
