Are you requesting an RfA?  ~Steptrip 14:16, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I was referring to this comment.  ~Steptrip 14:28, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
In that case, it's pretty much guaranteed that you'll become an admin, because (as you probably already know) almost every user that Nishkid64 has nominated has been granted adminship, in addition to the fact that you have a well-rounded edit count. Btw, could you please review me (the link is the tilde in my sig)?  ~Steptrip 15:06, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'll do that ... I actually got the idea from Bluemoose ;-)  ~Steptrip 15:03, 7 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oooh...email when that happens, I would be enlightened to co-nominate you. I am rather excited ! Good luck. ~ Arjun 02:06, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, but be more careful before you accuse people next time[edit]

What I added was helpful and constructive, if you had read it. The picture being indicated in the section I edited had been moved up by another used, and is now above the text, not below, as I wished to correct by changing the words. Sadly, you just deleted this change without trying to assertain why it was made. If you had merely read the section in context, you would have seen that I was improving the article.

Thanks for changing the Saturn article back.

Someone from this IP vandalized on Wiki. But please, don't block the whole IP in any case. It's not permament for user, it is owned by our local provider (and half of Russia sits behind their routers).

I just saw that warning in "messages" section and suddenly get afraid of visiting Wiki one day and discovering massive IP-ban.

PS And yeah, it REALLY wasn't me who messed with editing. =)

Bit o' help[edit]

First off, let me congradulate you on what will be a successful RFA (I know you're not supposed to count your chickens before they hatch, but unless you're caught with a dead girl or a live boy, you'll pass with a huge margin).

I come to you needing a bit of help. I have decided to change my Wikipedia signature (S h a r k f a c e 2 1 7 ) after recieving complaints about it for.... years? I was wondering if you could assist me by designing an appropriate Wiki sig for me. Your new sig (with just AO) is minimalist but highlights your name, which is something I'm looking to do with my sig.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. S h a r k f a c e 2 1 7 21:17, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RfA[edit]

That sounds good to me(your answer). I guess maybe I have learned something new along with it. That it mistakes on that area from anyone from time to time is OK. I have recently went off the deep end, but have since then not only learned to assume good faith, I encoarge it, now. I am making efforts in that, and it looks like you are too, a required trait in administrators to demonstrate. Good luck on your RfA.--U.S.A.U.S.A.U.S.A. (talk) 20:28, 24 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of vandalism counter[edit]

I see that you removed the vandalism counter after the comment in your RFA. I tried to follow the reasoning, but I found the Meatball wiki reference to be nearly incomprehensible. My feeling is that the counter discourages user page vandalism by sending the message that vandalism is fleeting and merely results in another blip on the counter. However, if there is valid reasoning that the counter encourages or feeds vandalism, then I would like to know about it.--Kubigula (talk) 21:19, 24 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

To let you know, I agree with Kubigula and believe that you should replace it, (I.E., not give in to silly demands at RFA). However, it is your choice. -- Chrislk02 (Chris Kreider) 14:08, 25 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Adminship[edit]

I must say, I am very confuzzled as to why you aren't an administrator, especially since you express interest on your userpage. I don't know if you've filed an RfA before, but I think it's safe to say you would pass with flying colors. From what I can tell, you want to be an administrator, you'd make a good administrator, and others would want you to be an administrator. So, unless I am missing something here, I'd like to file an RfA on your behalf. Get back to me with an answer if you're interested. Thanks! --Hojimachongtalk 14:36, 26 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Absolutely, not a problem. I didn't block him initially, of course, but my only complaint was his username. --Yamla 15:13, 30 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Clearing stale reports from WP:AIV[edit]

I noticed you commented on one report on AIV, to leave up for a while to see if they remain active. While this is standard practice, notice that this particular user had not edited in over 8 hours, so there is no point in leaving the report up. Stale reports like these should just be cleared. The report in question was:

Anyway, thanks for watching AIV and I hope you're enjoying the mop. —dgiestc 16:27, 30 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Response[edit]

Well, they did get an "only warning" earlier, not today but within the past couple of weeks. Also, it's a school IP. I feel very strongly (and have not been disagreed with so far) that we ought to respond liberally with blocks in the case of school-related vandalism: the real danger there is that vandalism will catch on and become a fun thing to do in the student culture, and then it becomes much harder to control. Also, since it won't be anyone's only point of access, it doesn't prevent people from editing under accounts they create at home. Mangojuicetalk 16:44, 30 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your note[edit]

Thank you for your note on my talkpage. In retrospect I think you got a bit of a rough deal from me- you're certainly not the first to be hit hard for such discussions of their RfA and thinking about it I think you were placed in an ackward position by the comment you were replying to. I hope you'll see with experience how the accasional well-judged use of WP:IAR is necessary to keep this community going (and keep it from slidding down the precipice of bureaucracy on which it seems to be precariously perched). You seem like a really nice guy and my comments where overwhelmingly in a minority. I hope you come to enjoy being an admin. The main reason I dropped by was that I wanted to make it clear that the fact I did not support you in your RfA doesn't not mean that you don't have my support as an administrator. If there's ever anything I can help you with, please do get in touch. Best wishes, WjBscribe 19:00, 30 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Decision not to block[edit]

Hi, can you please help me understand your decision not to block User:68.213.100.138? The IP has received the full spectrum of warnings in the past, as recently as April 23, culminating in a block. Are all four required every time a block is removed? (I understand that multiple people can use an IP address, but in this case the edits are to the same small set of articles.) Not looking to overturn your decision, just to understand policy better. Thanks! -Pete 20:35, 30 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I am Andonic on freenode and I would like the cloak wikipedia/Andonic. Thanks. --· AndonicO Talk 20:03, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What now?[edit]

Do you have a current project that you're working on? --Thus Spake Anittas 20:14, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, just don't get burned out. :p --Thus Spake Anittas 20:22, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ya beat me![edit]

To the block on Shaddamoosh! Great job, I would recommend using {{subst:vandalblock}} instead though. But that is just me ;). Cheers! ~ Arjun 20:50, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey glad to see you on the IRC! I need your help though, I tried setting up a cloak months ago but I never got one (i think). Can you please send me some very, very basic step by step instructions? Thanks. ~ Arjun 20:52, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
