March 2010[edit]

  1. Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, as you did to the article Isaaq, please cite a reliable source for the content of your edit. This is particularly important when adding or changing any facts or figures and helps maintain our policy of verifiability. Take a look at Wikipedia:Citing sources for information about how to cite sources and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. See also: Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Somalia#Clan lineage, Category talk:Somali clans. Thank you.
  2. Please do not add or change content without citing verifiable and reliable sources, as you did to Isaaq. Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. You also removed the existing references. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 14:38, 26 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  3. Thank you for your contributions. Please remember to mark your edits as "minor" only if they truly are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes, or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 17:03, 26 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Mohamoud Mohamed Duale "Mohamuud Arab" requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Isaaq[edit]

  1. The information that you want to add may well be true. The problem is that it needs a source first. Without sources the clan listing get very long and become unreadable. Currently most of the Somali clans are sourced and it helps keep them readable and manageable. The other thing is that long lists of sub-clans are not encyclopaedic. This is a general encyclopaedia and not a complete breakdown of the clan structure of Somalia. Instead of adding unsourced material why not find some sources that can be added. While it is preferred that the sources be in English it is not required. something lame from CBW 22:53, 28 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Note that the Allexperts.com source that you cited ([1], [2]) is a mirror of Wikipedia. As such, it is not a reliable source. Please see WP:CIRCULAR. Thanks, -- Gyrofrog (talk) 15:47, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
