List of words having different meanings in British and American English[edit]

Thanks for your input on this article. It would actually be useful to be able to see on your User page whether you come from US or UK or elsewhere (and what region) to be able to understand better your perspective on some of the updates you are making, especially if others disagree with or question them. (In fact you may note that I've questioned / changed some of your recent updates, but have eplained why on the Talk page.) Best wishes. -- TrevorD 23:54, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Lists of Words[edit]

There's a discussion going on at Wikipedia_talk:What_Wikipedia_is_not#Lists of Words over the interpretation of policy regarding lists of words. As a fairly recent contributor to [List of words having different meanings in British and American English], you might wish to add to the debate, as it affects several AfDs going on, and a current Deletion Review. Thanks. WLD 21:14, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Amplifier cover.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Amplifier cover.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 18:36, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of category from your userpage[edit]

Hi. In enacting consensus from User categories for discussion, I have removed the category Category:Wikipedians interested in books from your userpage. It was determined in that deletion debate that this category should be depopulated of individuals, but kept as a parent category. If you wish to display a category reflecting your interest in books, please consider one of the specific sub-categories under its umbrella. Thanks, and please excuse the necessary editing of your user page! ----Moonriddengirl (talk) 18:07, 23 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, the Title Holder always uses the Title Holders qualification spot regardless of their domestic league position in order to prevent situations whereby the holders do not qualify because they finished outside the qualification spots in their domestic league. Also, Man Utd were given the #1 seed in the group stage draw for that exact reason. Therefore, I have reverted your edit. – PeeJay 21:25, 7 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Reviewer[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. -FASTILY (TALK) 19:43, 25 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
