September 2020[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page The Owl House has been reverted.
Your edit here to The Owl House was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links in references which are discouraged per our reliable sources guideline. The reference(s) you added or changed (https://www.reddit.com/r/TheOwlHouse/comments/ill21i/hooty_hooty_im_dana_terrace_creator_and_ep_of_the/g3svhu4/) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 13:39, 15 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
If this is a shared IP address, and you didn't make the edit, please ignore this notice.

Hi IP editor! I have undone this bot's actions. Even though Reddit is not a WP:RS, I personally feel an AMA with the actual creator is a proper source for this. Some might actually disagree on that; we'll see! Thanks for finding that quote from Dana Terrace and settling the matter. Oh, and don't feel discouraged because an automated tool thought you did something wrong! These tools are very useful, but they lack actual intelligence. Information icon Hello, I'm Asartea. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Power Rangers Time Force have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse. Thanks. Asartea (talk) 04:30, 19 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.
@Asartea: That's pretty harsh, using a vandalism template to tell someone off when they split a long sentence into two shorter ones without changing their meaning. Which phrasing you prefer is a matter of taste. Not constructive? Please WP:AGF and let's be a little more friendly to one another... Digital Brains (talk) 09:16, 19 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Digital Brains: Which is the reason I only used the first level which is in my opinion less you committed vandalism and more your edit wasn't constructive. If I believed they had committed actual vandalism I would have used level two or higher warning template Asartea Talk 09:46, 19 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Asartea: As I indicated, I think not constructive is still harsh when you just don't think the edit is an improvement. wikt:constructive: Carefully considered and meant to be helpful. It's telling someone off for sure. If you really care so much about the phrasing that you want to revert their contribution, you could have just reverted their edit with the summary "Not an improvement". No need to admonish someone who is just trying to improve Wikipedia. I assume that's what you are here for too, and I ask that you try and look at this from the recipient's side. You see a sentence you think doesn't flow well, and you split it into two shorter, more explicit sentences. Then someone undoes that and tells you that your behaviour is not constructive, and that if you wish to experiment, you can go play in the sandbox. I'm sorry, but that's uncalled for. Digital Brains (talk) 10:11, 19 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Digital Brains: You do raise a good point. Looking at the links you provided I find myself agreeing with your reasoning, I've strikethroughed my original warning. Asartea Talk 10:17, 19 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Asartea: Thanks! I'm really glad we ended up on the same page! Digital Brains (talk) 10:32, 19 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Jacob Gotts. I noticed that you recently removed content from Nickelodeon Kart Racers without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. jp×g 00:19, 26 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm JPxG. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Nickelodeon Party Blast, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. jp×g 22:03, 12 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
