May 2020[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Mansplaining; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Binksternet (talk) 23:19, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Binksternet This warning is a bit nonsensical, there was no "repeatedly changing content back" User:46.97.170.78 simply changed a small portion of what had been originally reverted, in an attempt to find a good edit. It was very clearly a WP:GOODFAITH edit. You should remove this template.Nithintalk 00:16, 13 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

Discretionary sanctions alert[edit]

I have reverted your comments to Talk:Larry Sanger. Don't post petty insults like that just to vent. If you want to talk about improving the article, read Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons first. This policy applies to all Wikipedia pages, including talk pages. Grayfell (talk) 07:46, 29 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I'm terribly sorry for getting carried away. My bad. It's just that alt right influencers are already using Sanger's name to legitimize their conspiracy theories about wikipedia, and it made me lose my cool. I reworded my comment to be less petty and insulting. 46.97.170.78 (talk) 08:15, 29 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
