Criteria for political endorsements[edit]

Hi 209.122.10.206. Please be aware that any political endorsements must meet all three of these criteria:

  1. The endorser must have an article or be unquestionably entitled to one
  2. This endorsement must be covered by reliable and independent sources
  3. Coverage of the endorsement needs to use the word endorse, or other closely related synonym.

This is covered by the consensus at WP:ERFC.

For that reason, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, poker websites, and blogs are not acceptable sources. Also, donating to a campaign or showing up to a campaign rally are not endorsements. Please let me know if you have any questions. - MrX 🖋 23:48, 29 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Political endorsements[edit]

Following a recent discussion, please note that political endorsements included in Wikipedia must meet the following criteria:

  1. The endorser must have an article or be unquestionably entitled to one
  2. This endorsement must be covered by reliable and independent sources
  3. Coverage of the endorsement needs to use the word endorse, or other closely related synonym.

Billy West's tweet mentioning "#Bernie2020" does not meet the last two criteria. Please make sure that any future endorsements you include meet all three of the above criteria. Otherwise, they will be removed. If you have any questions, you can ask me at my talk page or ask another volunteer at the Teahouse. Thanks! — Bilorv (talk) 23:17, 7 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A Tweet is not independent from the person who tweeted it. We need secondary coverage which uses the word "endorsement" or a synonym to include it. Otherwise, the content will be removed. I am not the first person to point this out to you. You can sign your talk page comments with ~~~~ and thank you for removing your insult against me. — Bilorv (talk) 00:39, 8 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

American politics discretionary sanctions notice[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in post-1932 politics of the United States and closely related people. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Request reason:

I'm again sorry for "Vandalizing" articles on Wikipedia, i promise to only edit when it's only needed, so i'd like to appeal this block by only doing edits on your own terms, i'll listen to you, i promise

Decline reason:

This unblock request has been declined due to your history of vandalism and/or disruption to this encyclopedia. However, we are willing to give you another chance provided that you can earn back the trust of the Wikipedia community. To be unblocked you need to demonstrate that you are willing and able to contribute positively to Wikipedia. You can do this by:

  • Familiarizing yourself with our basic rules.
  • Read our guide to improving articles.
  • Pick any pre-existing article you wish to improve.
  • If you have trouble choosing an article to improve, see this index of articles needing improvement for ideas. Once you have decided on the article you will propose improvements to:
    1. Click the Edit tab at the top of that article;
    2. Copy the portion of the prose from that article that you will be proposing changes to. However:
      • do not copy the "infobox" from the start of the article (i.e., markup like this: ...);
      • do not copy any image placement code (i.e., markup like this: );
      • do not copy the page's categories from the bottom of the page (i.e., markup like this: );
      • do not copy the stub tag (if there) from the bottom of the page (i.e., markup like this: Foo stub);
    3. Click edit at your talk page, and paste at the bottom under a new section header (like this: == Article title ==) the copied content but do not save yet;
    4. Place your cursor in the edit summary box and paste there an edit summary in the following form which specifies the name of the article you copied from and links to it (this is required for mandatory copyright attribution): "Copied content from exact Name of Article; see that article's history for attribution."
    5. You can now save the page. However, if your edits will include citations to reliable sources (which they should), add the following template to the end of your prose: reflist-talk. Once you have added the template, click Publish changes.
  • Now, edit that content. Propose significant and well researched improvements by editing the selected portion of the article. Please note that we are not looking for basic typo corrections, or small unreferenced additions; your edits should be substantial, and reflect relevant policies.
  • When you are done with your work, re-request unblocking and an administrator will review your proposed edits.
    • If we (including the original blocking admin) are convinced that your proposed edits will improve Wikipedia as an encyclopedia, you will be unblocked.

If you need help while working with your proposed edits, you may add "your question here ~~~~" to your talk page. Thank you. Yamla (talk) 20:50, 14 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the unblock template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page 2020 United States Senate election in Kentucky has been reverted.
Your edit here to 2020 United States Senate election in Kentucky was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (https://twitter.com/ava/status/1274397444747309057, https://twitter.com/Oweeeeendennis/status/1274597765448753152) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a blog, forum, free web hosting service, fansite, or similar site (see 'Links to avoid', #11), then please check the information on the external site thoroughly. Note that such sites should probably not be linked to if they contain information that is in violation of the creator's copyright (see Linking to copyrighted works), or they are not written by a recognised, reliable source. Linking to sites that you are involved with is also strongly discouraged (see conflict of interest).
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. For god's sake man... they all have said that they clearly supported Bernie, besides... you didn't remove the Twitter endorsements for Hillary Clinton from 2016, so why remove my edits if you all did the same goddamn thing back then. Not to mention i've seen how you've been censoring numerous people on Breitbart and KotakuinAction.[1][2]209.122.10.206 (talk) 06:46, 18 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Consensus was established in December 2019. All related articles to the 2020 elections have Twitter endorsements regularly removed; you've received numerous warnings since December 2019, even have been blocked because of this in March, a warning by me in May, and a further warning by another editor just last week. Yet still, you are not getting the point. I have removed Twitter endorsements on most if not all major candidates from all parties for the 2020 elections. Breitbart is not a reliable source per WP:BREITBART, and Reddit will never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, be an acceptable reliable source on Wikipedia. Ever.
In response to the links you've linked: nobody is forcing you to edit Wikipedia. If you believe Wikipedia is biased and unreliable, you're more than welcome to find a website that is better and edit that. —MelbourneStartalk 07:01, 18 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm XLinkBot. I wanted to let you know that one or more external links you added to Micah Wright have been removed because they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links.
Your edit here to Micah Wright was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (https://twitter.com/MicahTheWarDog/) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia.
Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 23:02, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • In addition to the articles noted above, I've reverted all of your recent category edits where you added categories stating that BLP subjects had been convicted of crimes where there was no reliably sourced content (or any content) verifying a conviction for any crime. Do you not know the difference between an arrest or indictment and an actual conviction?
