April 2020[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "'Peg Shitty G", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it contains an expletive. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. funplussmart (talk) 19:32, 23 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Your account has been blocked indefinitely because the chosen username is a clear violation of our username policy – it is obviously profane, threatens, attacks or impersonates another person, or suggests that you do not intend to contribute positively to the encyclopedia (see our blocking and username policies for more information).

We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia, but users are not allowed to edit with inappropriate usernames and we do not tolerate 'bad faith' editing such as trolling or other disruptive behavior. If you think there are good reasons why these don't describe your account, or why you should be unblocked, you are welcome to appeal this block – read our guide to appealing blocks to understand more about unblock requests, and then add the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=your reason here ~~~~}} at the end of your user talk page.

I was blocked because of my user name... Are you serious? I'm blocked for using "shit" in my name? That's ridiculous. I'll no longer be donating to Wikipedia and will spread the word on social media in an attempt to get others to follow suit. No one should be censored and blocked for something like this. I'm insulted. 'Peg Shitty G (talk) 20:19, 23 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Wikipedia is a collaborative work environment. As such, we have standards of conduct that need to be adhered to in order to have such an environment. Including profanities in your username is not conducive to that environment. We have a policy regarding usernames at Wikipedia:Username policy. It specifically prohibits the use of profane usernames. If you think this policy is in error, and we should allow usernames with profanities, you are welcome to suggest changes to the policy at Wikipedia talk:Username policy. --Hammersoft (talk) 21:54, 23 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I don't understand why I was blocked. All I did was remove inappropriate insults from the page. I've donated to Wiki three years in a row and this is the forst time I've ever edited a page. *edit*, So I just read a message from an admin that says I was blocked because of my user name... Are you serious? I'm blocked for using "shit" in my name? That's ridiculous. I'll no longer be donating to Wikipedia and will spread the word on social media in an attempt to get others to follow suit. No one should be censored and blocked for typing "shit". Decline reason:

You are expected to follow our policies and guidelines, including WP:USERNAME. If you wish to be unblocked, you need to pick a new username. Yamla (talk) 22:00, 23 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
