Hobbies and Interests[edit]

Dark Druid[edit]

An avid writer and a proponent of writing as a tool to encourage children's and teens' imaginations, Taed began an original text-based RPG called Dark Druid in March of 2006. Like many text RPs it is open to the public to join and create a character(s) to adventure in a neomythological world. There are several rules and considerations which are designed to keep the gameplay realistic and also promote correct spelling and grammar in members' posts. The RPG features a number of well-known mythological races, but many have been twisted or changed to put a creative and unusual spin on them (for examples, dwarves feature in the southern ocean as lightweight, raft-dwelling merchants and turtle hunters).

At the same time that the original Dark Druid RP was released, Taed began writing the first of a planned series of books meant to explain the backstory of the Dark Druid world, under the working series title Annals of the Dark Druidism. It is not yet completed.

The original site closed down with thanks to its members in December 2009. A sequel site, Dark Druid Wars, opened to the public in January 2010 but is currently inactive.

Language[edit]

As part of his vocal training for his music education degree, Taed learned English, Italian, German, and French diction -- not speaking the language itself, but being able to pronounce language-specific sounds and dialects. Taed has also been trying to teach himself Welsh, Gaelic, and Russian diction.

For a few years, he has been studying Tolkien's Elvish for several years, and while he has been able to use the Tengwar (script as opposed to runes) alphabet, only recently has he begun to learn the actual languages and been writing songs in Elvish.

Psionicology[edit]

For many years now Taed has been working to study the parapsychological concept of inherited mutation of the human mind, or "psionica." The condition was given its name because it is very similar to the fictional concept of psionics. Taed identifies psionica in high school and college students in the state of Michigan and has several students. Part of his findings are posted at his research wiki, "Encyclopedia Psionica".
