Don Mills Mirror, North York Mirror[edit]

Founded by 30-year-old Russ Eastcott and 22-year-old Ken Larone in 1957, the Don Mills Mirror was the duo's second effort at running a newspaper. The Canadian preceded it.[1] At the time of launch, the paper was considered one of Canada's first suburban newspapers. The industry was dominated by urban dailies and rural weeklies.[1] The paper initially had a cover price of seven cents, but Koffler Drugs Stores (later Shoppers Drug Mart) and distributed at its two stores for free.[1]

Early in its existence, the Mirror launched York Mills and Victoria Village editions.[1]

As of 2007, the newspaper had a North edition for Willowdale, South for Don Mills and York Mills, and West for Downsview. It was distributed twice weekly.[1]

This newspaper existed back to at least 1969, when it was under Toronto Star ownership.
