This being my first blog entry, I doubt that I will have very much to say. I further doubt that anyone anywhere will even bother to read this (although if you do, tell me and you may get some sort of prize).

I recently heard Jimbo talking on NPR's Talk of the Nation from Wikimania 2009, and was appauled at how little the reporter and callers actually knew about how Wikipedia was run and organized. I mean, come on!! the reporter "was completely wrong about everything", and Jimbo had to redo the introduction so that listeners werer not misinformed. I am a religious NPR listener, and only once before has information been completely wrong (Mind you, This time was Wait Wait… Don't Tell Me!, a news satire show, not a serious show!). On said Wait, Wait! episode, the guest star was William H. Macy. The hosts had heard that he had the largest boomerang collection in the united states, and had their entire array of questions based off that "fact". When asked the first question about his boomerangs, he replied that it was simply a myth. So, basically, I'm just saying that NPR's researchers really need to work on their communication skills with the reporters so that this doesn't ever EVER happen again.
