The first memory that Flores has about the Beatles relates to an old magazine of his grandfather's about the group. He was only 9 years old at the time, but remembers being fascinated by photographs of the band in that publication.(tupper)(vezeni)

A later influence came when he was 14, with the release of two compliation albums covering the years 1962-1966 and 1967-1970. At that time he was living in Los Angeles a city in the south of Chile and the radio began to play the first album. He remembers stting on the couch at his hom and being impressed by the melodies.(tupper)

Some time after that he moved to Concepción while his classmates thought of forming rock bands, the thought about writing a book. This was before the Internet, and he started reading all he could about the Beatles in Chilean and foreign newspapers and magazines. (tupper)

In 1992, he published "Mil fechas en la historia de Los Beatles, a chronology of the bands hits, which was distributed in Chile, Argentina and Uruguay.(tupper)

He admits the Mil fechas book had some weaknesses, especially in documentation.(tupper)

In 1999 he published "Los Beatles: Idolatría sin límites" dedicated to the band's tours outside the UK.(tupper)

But when he began doing research on the Internet he almost immediately realized he could do that topic better. The reworked topic became "The Beatles Giras Internacionales 1964, 1965, 1966" which compiles stories and images related to the band's impact in various parts of the world. Research for this book included contacts with various museums and people who have known members of the group including the head of the largest Beatles fan club in the world in Canada anda professor in New Zealand who has studied Beatles fans for signs of neurosis.(tupper)

Flores believes that these foreign tours has a sociocultural impact through the popularization of their music, stating that "In all the countries that they visited, young people began to form bands, instrument sales rose and fashion changed."(tupper)

Written from a Latino point of view, it seeks to explain aspects of Anglo-Saxon culture that books translated from English did not.(librosobre)

La Epoca called the book "Mil fechas" "practically unique in its genre"(vfuentes)

The book was financed through a grant by Chilean businessman Sergio Chichero.(vfuentes)

Mil fechas tracks the Beatles' history from October 5, 1962 with the release of Love me do to April 10, 1970 with the group disbanded. 2,745 days narrowed to 1,000 dates. It is a list of dates which does not seek to interpret the overall effect of the band. (lanacion)(lesaco)
