NCS usage policy[edit]
This section's tone or style may not reflect the encyclopedic tone used on Wikipedia. (May 2024) |
NCS songs are free to use by independant creators on YouTube and Twitch under certain conditions:[1]
- Attribution (link to the original NCS upload of the song for videos using NCS tracks or link to the NCS Spotify channel for live streams using NCS tracks)[1]
- Types of content (the use of NCS songs in the following types of content is explicitely allowed: reviews, unboxing, pranks, comedy, fails, beauty, fashion, fitness, lifestyle, gaming, sports, pop culture, DIY, design and compilations. Reuploading NCS songs is explicitely prohibted.[2] NCS reserves the right to restrict the usage of NCS songs in content featuring hate speech, illegal content, sexually themed content, generative AI content or other types of content deemed unacceptable by NCS as well as for training AI music models)[2]
- Non-commercial use (commercial uses are mostly prohibited, however independant creators are usually allowed to monetize videos using NCS songs if they respect all other terms of the usage policy)[1]
The NCS usage policy doesn't allow remixing NCS sounds, nor does it explicitly prohibit it.[1] However, under U.S. copyright law remixing a song, i.e. creating a derivative work of that song, is exclusively granted to the holder of the copyright of that song, i.e to the author of that song.[3][4]
