Article Critique[edit]

I visited the Dreamville page on Wikipedia, and found three aspects of it worth commenting on its lack of Citations, its incorrect album release date, and its incorrect listed number albums.

Citations[edit]

Throughout this page I've noticed a few citations but there are no citations in the beginning of the articles. The lack of citations give readers information that they cannot check to see. In the beginning the section that talks about J Cole and how he meet Omen through a blog but as i researched it there is no reliable source stating how they met. Also throughout the page there are statistics of how many albums are being copied but no sources of where these numbers are coming from, or if they are even up to date.

Incorrect dates[edit]

Looking throughout the page reading about the artists that are signed under dreamville, I've noticed that towards the end there was an incorrect album release date. Ari Lenox is a singer signed under the label company, her album entitled Pho was released on October 21,2016 and not October 22. Their was also not a link citation next to the album name but the incorrect date was still typed.

Incorrect Listed Number of Albums[edit]

Towards the end of the page their are rosters that shows all of the artists under the label Dreamville. Reading the top chart it shows that J Cole has released seven albums under the label, there was no information about that in introduction of the page. I researched into all of his albums on apple to discover that Cole has only released three albums under Dreamville records and the rest under roc nation and inter scope records. This page needs more reliable sources so that their could be better statistics.

Summary[edit]

This page was "okay" I must say as a whole. The beginning wasn't as organized as it could have been and the lack of citations in the beginning don't give readers a clear understanding of the the label or how it was established. There were places throughout each section where there were some citations but still the information wasn't correct like album releases and dates. The last section of the page gave very great background information about the foundation of dreamville and even provides the positive things the artists have done with communities. The better citing of reliable sources would help the statistics of the page.
