From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hello, world! My actual name is Steven, and Space2Core very broadly summarizes my scope of interest: everything between space and our planet’s core. Concerning my professional life, this led to only one conclusion: I had to become a geoscientist.

I believe that by now I accumulated quite a bit of expertise in this field. Ok, maybe not covering everything between space and core, but at least a few topics within this realm. Most notably: geophysics (especially magnetotellurics and seismology), but also a little bit of meteorology, physical geography, and geology. Other than being a geoscientist, I also consider myself a computer geek. I travel a lot, and might have a little to write about the places that I visited.

Since Spring 2005 I have been a regular reader of Wikipedia. I often considered to contribute myself, but turned out to be far too lazy to do so. Well, this time I am seriously trying to change this behavior. Throughout the past I spotted quite a few inaccuracies in pages related to my field, and those are the first places, where I believe that I can help.

I grew up in Germany and am a native speaker of German. But I am fluid in English too, and since I moved to the United States in 2006, I am expecting my English language skills to improve little by little every day. Writing for the English Wikipedia hopefully will help me to speed up this process.
