Hello I am from the UK and have a focussed interest on British military history and specifically on forgotten but significant military leaders and influencers. I am also very interested in the Island Republic of Malta and the Sultanate of Oman. I spent many years in both places. My contributions are rather simplistic but I am slowly learning the craft.

My Approach

Find something I think is worthy and interesting to write about, help others when I can with referencing and never take offence if anything I try to publish gets 'spiked'. Life is too short! My inspiration is largely drawn from the work of others do on Wikipedia; I am always on the hunt for red text I can help with or citation needed challenge.

Dislikes

Arrogant editing comments - if I am inaccurate, which as a hobbyist Wiki contributor I can often be - just say "inaccurate content" to say "grossly inaccurate content" is unnecessarily confrontational. So I dislike bad mannered and supercilious individuals with an inflated sense of their own importance. Wikipedia is not the be all and end all of things in life.

Interests

British and former British Empire military history

I have a great affection for the Republic of Malta, which I spent three wonderful years living in as a child and have visited as an adult. I also have a similar interest in the Sultanate of Oman.

Recent Places Visited

Participated in a D Day battlefield tour of Normandy. Also visited Dublin in Eire and Kraków in Poland - Loved both cities with their great views, super people and value for money.
