Gnoppix[edit]

Gnoppix Linux was developed in September 2002 and based on Debian GNU/Linux 3.0 (Woody). It gained public recognition in 2003. Lead developer Andreas Müller was later hired by Canonical to integrate Gnoppix Linux LiveCD functionality into Ubuntu 4.10 (Warty), leading to the project's convergence and the establishment of the Kubuntu Project.[1]
