With the help of the increasingly well-liked app Musical.ly, tweens and teens can make and share short movies that are lip-synced to their favorite songs. Well, usually it's a kid lip-syncing or dancing to a popular song that everyone enjoys, or else dramatically reciting famous movie quotes or biting comedic lines (similar to Dubsmash). In order to add a fresh and entertaining touch to what they post, musers can also fancify their videos with effects like color filters, speed them up, or slow them down. When a Muser uploads a video, it is classified as a "Musical" and other users can comment on it, "like" it, or subscribe to the user's account to view more of their future material. When a Muser uploads a video, it is classified as a "Musical" and other users can comment on it, "like" it, or subscribe to the user's account to view more of their future material. It is recommended by Musical.ly that you link your account to other social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram so that people with whom you are already connected can locate you.[1] But, on November 9, 2017, the Wall Street Journal reported that Musical.ly Inc had been sold to Bytedance Technology Co., which operates the program Toutiao, for as much as US$1 billion. However, Recode estimated that the sale would be for around US$800 million. On August 2, 2018, Bytedance consolidated the user accounts of Musical.ly and TikTok, merging the two apps into one and keeping the title TikTok. The app continued the "featured" page but made the modification of renaming it to "For You" to offer personalized recommendations[2]. Users could still produce videos between 15 seconds and one minute, but could now access a larger number of filters and effects that can be activated through face motion recognition software, green-screen background effects, as well as smoother editing and publishing systems and higher-quality code[3].Although the TikTok’s main content is music and video, it allows users to create and post videos that are not necessarily related to music. TikTok allows users to delve into their most creative and precious moments, even non-music videos of themselves. One of the primary elements of the videos is the selfies as users use their mobile phone cameras to record their lip-syncing performance and share it with the world.[4]
