Thirdie.com, is a social networking website, founded in February of 2009. It is used in many countries including the United States, Ireland, Canada, the United Kingdom, New Zealand and Australia. Founded by Pete Merrill[1].

Profiles[edit]

Thirdie is similar to other social networking sites. Each profile[2] includes two specific modules, a main section where other users can leave a message, a recent “activities” feed, and an area for status updates. The second module includes a profile photo, information about the member, and a list of the user's friends.

Members can view the recent changes friends have made to their homepage by simply viewing a profile. These changes can include uploaded photos, blog posts, and newly added videos and friends.

Thirdie Music[edit]

Thirdie.com’s music page was officially launched with the site on February 2nd, 2009. It allows users to quickly create a playlist simply by typing in their favorite band, or musician. Playlists can then be shared with other users and modified.

Thirdie Blog[edit]

On February 2nd, 2009, the Blog[3] area was added to Thirdie. This area enables people to post a blog or read what others have been posting. It is only viewable by complete members for privacy reasons.

Thirdie Games[edit]

Thirdie currently features close to 300 different games[4]. The games page was recently re-designed to make it easier for users to find games that suit their personalities and tastes. Originally, when Thirdie was launched, there were only 25 games to choose from, but when members wanted more choices more games were added. Some of the genres include; Action, Adventure, Sports, Shooter, Strategy, and Puzzle games

Thirdie Topics[edit]

On February 2nd, 2009, Thirdie launched an area for members to discuss topics and post opinions. Currently this page contains close to 10 categories, and 1200 different topics[5]

Thirdie Videos[edit]

This page was one of the original pages of Thirdie and is now one of the most popular ways that visitors use this website. All members can easily upload video[6] files directly from a computer, search Youtube, or paste a URL. Anyone can view and comment on videos posted but cannot post their own unless they are a member.

Thirdie Members[edit]

The member page is a complete listing of all people that are on Thirdie and gives others the opportunity to search for a friend, or sort this list by name and creation. Thirdie is currently closing in on 3,000 members[7].

Thirdie Extras[edit]

Announced on February 14th, 2010, the Extras page is a collection of some of the less popular features of Thirdie. This list includes Daily Content[8](Where you can get the “Word of the Day”, “Quote of the Day”, and a quick fact about “This Day in History”.), a Drop Box[9] (A place for people to upload images, videos, music, and files for legal distribution.), and the Wall[10] (Which is a page that lets users quickly post a comment or a link to something interesting.).

Meebo Instant Messaging[edit]

Users can click “log in” on this integrated Meebo IM bar and find other members that are online, or quickly search for a friend and visit their profile. Users can also update the status that appears on their profile through this, without leaving the page that they are on.
