Koustav Sarkar (Sanskrit: Kaustabha) is an Indian sportsperson and administrator currently serving as the Indian National Director of the World Martial Arts Committee. Sarkar holds numerous laurels and accolades. He is the winner of the Hall of Fame and a record holder for both India Book of Records and International Books of Records.

Personal Life[edit]

Koustav Sarkar was born in a Bengali family on 22 December 2002 in Dhanbad, Jharkhand, the son of Pankaj Sarkar, an engineer, and Paromita Sarkar, a teacher.

Education[edit]

Koustav Sarkar completed his Secondary and Higher Secondary from South Point School, Kolkata and his Diploma (Dip. Ing. CST) from Acharya Prafulla Chandra Ray Polytechnic, Jadavpur University, Kolkata. He is currently pursuing his B. Tech from Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata.

Sports Career[edit]

Koustav Sarkar is one of the few players to have over 100 bouts in International Events. He has won a total of 21 Golds, 4 Silvers, and 13 Bronzes. He is also India's only Gold medalist in the U18 Men Karate Category in the WMAC World Martial Arts Games 2017.
