the defending forces consisted of the 10th egyptian brigade and 500 albanians under hussien bek al masry

while the attacking russian forces consisted of three columns

course of the battle:[edit]

at first the garrison was taken by surprise and the russians occupied the first trench and then proceded towards the fort's wall but when they arrived they discoverd that the garrison had made to the walls before them and the russians were thrown back with heavy casualties , two more attemtps were also repelled with heavy losses[1]
