From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Atlassian Partners is the Atlassian ecosystem of partners, which has grown to over 1000 companies across the world since 2004.[1]

History[edit]

The Atlassian partner program began informally in 2004 with a small number of other Australian companies. These partners mostly helped customers install and configure Atlassian products, along with writing custom plugins as needed.

The creation of a "plugin exchange" by the partner Adaptavist for all partners to share their plugins had developed by 2011 into the Atlassian Marketplace.[2]

The term "plugin" for something that extends Atlassian's products was deprecated for "add-on" in 2012, and then renamed to "app". The term "partner" was also replaced with "expert" around the same time, then reverted to "partner" later on.

The Atlassian Marketplace reached US $2 billion lifetime revenue in December 2021.[3]

Types of Partners[edit]

There are various types of Atlassian partners, grouped according to what each one offers. Note that many of the partners offer more than one type of service, and in different geographical locations.[4]

Solution Partners
Provide consulting services, training and on-going support for Atlassian products.

Some of the longer-standing and larger solution partners that are at the Platinum level include Adaptavist, Tempo Software, ServiceRocket, Appfire, valiantys, praecipio, Contegix, seibert, Deviniti and others.[5]

Marketplace Partners
Provide apps for Atlassian products and integrations with other products.
As of 2021 there were over 1250 companies that produce apps in the Atlassian Marketplace.
Global Alliance Partners
Assist the largest enterprise customers, often having deep vertical experience of business transformations.

Some example Global Alliance partners are Capgemini, Accenture, pwc and Deloitte.

Platform Partners
These companies have their own products and own the integrations with Atlassian products.
Product Licenses
Many of the other partner types offer license services for Atlassian products.[6]
