From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I have had to publish my message on my user page as, for some reason (no prizes for guessing why), I was unable to post a reply to Vif12vf/Tiberius on my talk page.

13 July 2019

Message to me from Vif12vf:

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Free Palestine Movement, you may be blocked from editing. Vif12vf/Tiberius (talk) 09:28, 13 July 2019 (UTC)

I have since had that threat repeated three times (total 4 threats.)

My response:

Dear Vif12vf and Wikipedia editorial team,

Thank you for your interesting and not surprising comments. Wikipedia is supposed to be an accurate, impartial encyclopaedia. At the moment, Wikipedia is failing to achieve this as the content of the Free Palestine Movement page is neither accurate nor impartial. This is because, instead of referring to the Palestinian struggle against colonialism which goes back over a century and is the most dominant, widespread and globally recognised meaning of the term ‘Free Palestine Movement,’ it refers to a 16 year old militant group which most people have not heard of. This has the effect of misleading the general public, in addition to being damaging to Wikipedia’s reputation as a credible online information source.

As a communist and presumably advocate of equality and the elimination of inequality, I would expect you to understand the long-suffering Palestinians and their struggle against injustice, Vif12vf. Given your comments, however, and repeated reversion of the content of the Free Palestine Movement article back to that 2003 militant group that no one has heard of, I fear that you are in fact an operative paid by Israel to maintain (or at least a supporter of maintaining) deliberate pro-Israeli propaganda in mainstream online sources such as Wikipedia. This video will help illustrate what I mean: https://freepalestinemovement.org/2019/07/03/video-how-israel-censors-the-internet/

I therefore call on you to desist from making counterproductive edits to the Free Palestine Movement article deliberately intended to mislead the general public with a blinkered, biased pro-Israeli narrative. I call on Wikipedia and other editors of Wikipedia to heed this message and not allow Wikipedia to be hijacked by pro-Israeli propaganda which is deliberately intended to mislead and mask the injustices Israel continues to propagate at Palestinians’ expense.

If you insist on hiding behind the unfounded accusations made in your comment to me of 13 July 2019 that my edits are ‘disruptive’ or ‘vandalism’ and opt to block me, then be my guest. But be aware that: (1) there are many, many people queuing up to replace me and continue the campaign against what appears to be Wikipedia’s innate pro-Israeli bias at the expense of accuracy and impartiality; and (2) I will in such event go public with the communications and treatment I have received from Wikipedia.

Finally, I call on all readers of this page to view the article which is a much more accurate description of the term ‘Free Palestine Movement’ and which Vif12vf and his backers are so uncomfortable with (you may get a pop-up window - just close it and you’ll get access to the document. If accessing via a mobile device, you may get the message ‘This browser does not support inline PDFs. Please download the PDF to view it: Download PDF.’ If so, click the ‘Download PDF’ link which will open a pop-up window. Close the pop-up window and you’ll see the article in the original window: https://anonymousfiles.io/V0GtwRch/
