My user name is a bit misleading when it comes to my interests.

Although I've been in the automotive service profession for 40 years, my biggest interest is U.S. motorcycle road touring. My wife and I have ridden to every U.S. state (except Hawaii!) at least once (gotta get back to Alaska).

From 1987 to 2006 I worked in various service positions for Land Rover North America. In my later years there, I wrote and edited technical service training course materials. During these 19 years of exposure to off-road vehicles and driving, I gradually acquired the web name "JD4x4".

No longer an advocate of WikiPedia as trustworthy for maintaining a NPOV or it's accuracy, nor do I have the time or fortitude to run the rules gauntlets that some "page keepers" here implement and admin with.
