Chris is the nineteenth studio album by American singer-songwriter Ryan Adams. Along with Wednesdays and Big Colors, it's the final installment of a trilogy originally slated for release in 2019, but delayed following sexual misconduct allegations against Adams. It was eventually released on April 01, 2022 through Adams's label PAX AM.[1]

On January 8, 2019, Ryan Adams announced the release of three new studio albums within the upcoming year.[2] Upon the release of Chris, Adams posted on Instagram: "I am so proud of this album. Nobody told me shit nobody yelling at me about the songs or pushing me around. A decade of that was a day too long. This is exactly how a record is when nobody is breathing down my neck or talking about hits or money or what singles or what will sound good on radio or tv. Not that any of that matters now… or ever did. None of that was the point. None of that was about the songs. That’s all it is anymore, all I am. The fact that it took me so long and this crooked journey to get here, to find myself again, as crazy as it all is, it was worth it."[3]
