James Eldrage Dillard (September 26, 1830—December 8, 1913) was Texas lawyer and politician who served in the Texas Senate for district 3 and the Texas House of Representatives for district 47.
Early life[edit]
Dillard was born on September 26, 1830, in Houston County, Georgia to David and Mahala (Durden) Dillard. He moved to Liberty County, Texas in 1848, where he was a farmer and stockman, but ultimately settled in Cherokee County, Texas where he studied law under a law firm and soon started his own law practice in Rusk.
