Haj Fadel Al Abboud,(1858 – 1936) (Arabic: الحاج فاضل عبود الحسن) the leader of Deir ez-Zor city and its representative in the Syrian parliament and the mayor, established a Syrian Arab government in the Euphrates valley, its capital is Deir ez-Zor in 1918. [2]

Al-Haj Fadel Al Abboud was born in Deir ez-Zor city in 1858 for an aristocratic family[3], The family is a branch of the Albu Obaid clan of Baggara tribe, that due to the descent of Imam Muhammad al-Baqir descendants of a Commander of the Faithful Ali al-Hashimi al-Qurashi Almdhara Aladnana.[4],

His family "Albu Obaid clan" owns tribal, economic and political position and Prestige in Deir ez-Zor city, Descended from it the Minister Mohammed Ayesh (first minister in the eastern region in Syria), the mujahid Ayash Al-Haj, and the Envoy in the Ottoman Empire Fanoush Al-abboud and a lot of politicians and dignitaries.

After the departure of the Ottomans, the people of Deir ez-Zor city found themselves without a central authority to protect them from looting, which has been doing the tribes surrounding the city. the people agreed to inauguration the Mayor Haj Fadel Al Aboud as president of the government to run the affairs of the city, Haj Fadel asked the leaders and sheikhs of clans and tribes in the Euphrates region to pledge allegiance, and they came to the city of Deir ez-Zor and pledged allegiance 1918

His death[edit]

Fadel Al Aboud died in the city of Deir ez-Zor in 1936 and was buried there and prepared his funeral in the presence of a large number of governmental and Arabic dignitaries.
