The Specialised Infantry Group is an administrative formation of the British Army, part of 6th (United Kingdom) Division and its "Adaptable Force". The brigade sized formation consists of five infantry battalions, and is tasked with providing training and mentoring to the armed forces of other nations. The purpose is to increase the contribution provided by the Army to counter-terrorism and the promotion of improved stability overseas, by ensuring that the armed forces of partner nations receive quality training in a range of areas, enabling them to improve their own security and, through this, enhance the security of the United Kingdom.
