Phthorimaea operculella granulovirus (PhopGV) is a Betabaculovirus belonging to the family Baculoviridae.[1] It has a double-stranded DNA genome that is 119217 base pairs in length with 130 ORFs. PhopGV infects few invertebrates, specifically Phthorimaea operculella also known as the Potato Tuber moth.

PhopGV biopesticides[edit]

Phthorimaea operculella is a major pest of Solanaceous crops worldwide. As such, PhopGV has been commercially formulated into the biological insecticide Matapol.[2]
