I resisted joining Wikipedia for a long time, since I felt that subjects within my area of interest/knowledge would be extensively covered. I also had a feeling that it would end up consuming my little free time.
I specialize in medieval British history, and my main interest right now is in Welsh castles. To my extreme surprise, very little has been written about many of them here on Wikipedia. So I have bitten the bullet and joined up, so as to write about the buildings that I love.
Currently I'm on a mission to visit every Welsh castle. *grins* I doubt that I will succeed any time soon, but it's a very enjoyable mission.
