RIP Frank "Onno" Braun

(September 5, 1935 – November 18, 2011) Frank Braun came to America from Germany in 1955. He settled in the small city of Berlin, New Hampshire with his only aunt. He died at his home, near Berlin, surrounded by family. For those who is wondering about this website, Frank was working on a biography of Eva Braun at the time of his death and his son, Mark, will continue his work but will not publish his book.

About me

My name is Frank "Onno" Braun and I was born in Germany on September 5, 1935. When I was 20 (1955) I moved to the United States and settled in New Hampshire, where I live today. While living in Berlin, New Hampshire, I worked in the paper mills of the Brown Company. The reason why I chose to live in Berlin is because when I was younger, my cousin, Eva Braun, gave my family many movies which included American silent movies from the 20’s and some special home movies that Eva filmed herself. One of my favorite movies to watch from this collection was “The Masked Menace” from 1927 filmed mostly in Berlin, New Hampshire. I was told by my mother that Adolf and Eva loved this movie when they first got it but I can’t prove or disprove this. That movie inspired me to move to Berlin. I’m sad to say that all these movies were destroyed by my father when he got upset when all the family keep on asking about them and in some way or another destroyed them. I remember my father saying, “Some things in history should remain a secret for eternity”. As said before, I am a second cousin to Eva Braun and personally met her and Adolf many times when I was young. I still live in New Hampshire but no longer live in Berlin. I hope you enjoy my site and would like to have you learn something about my family. Note: My family changed their surname after World War II and I personally changed my complete name to something different because I do not want to be judged for choices that my family members made. My “American” name, as I like to call it, will not be posted on this website for the above reason but my family still calls me Frank. I have three wonderful great-grandchildren Anna, Patrick, and Henry and love spending time with them.
