Background[edit]

Farah Mohamed , is a Somali young lady and the author of the short story A Foggy Fate.She was born on August 28, 1995 in a small town called Gabiley. She lived in Gabeliy for the first 10 years of her life, then she moved to the capital city of Somaliland with her family. In the year 2006, she moved to Hargeisa with her family.Now she lives in a boarding school that is located in a small village called Abaarso in the northwest of the capital city.

Education[edit]

She went to Imaamul Shaafic Madarasa to learn the Qur'an in a young age. Then she finished her primary education in the schools of Sheikh Muhummad Warsame and 18 May schools. Farah now goes to Abaarso Techschool of Science and Technology. She is an eleventh grade. Farah knows three languages and speaks them fluently: her mother tongue, Somali, Arabic as her second language, and English as her third language. She weighs 54Kg and she is 5 feet and ten inches tall(178cm).

Jobs[edit]

She is both an English and math tutor at Hargeisa Orphanage Center where she teaches kids from the ages of five until fifteen. She was also a tutor in Abaarso Tech After School Tutoring program for a year. Farah is the editor of the religion page of Abaarso Tech's newspaper. She was a member of Health committee for a year, but now she is a member of Food Committee.

Interests[edit]

Farah's favorite subjects are Writing and History. she is a member of multiple clubs such as philosophy and psychology. She likes writing and debating. Farah's favorite food is fried chicken. In her free time she likes to read. Native Son, To Kill a Mockingbird, A heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius are her favorite books.

Background[edit]

United Nations Office for West Africa is an organization that works on solving problems in West Africa. It is the first office of building and improving human rights in west Africa that the United Nations implemented so far.

Head of Mission[edit]

Since 2008 Said Djinnit became the head of UNOWA. He replaced Lamine Cissé who was in the office 2007-2008, and Ahmedou Ould-Abdallah who was also in the office from 2002 till 2007.

Accomplishments[edit]

Throughout the time that UNOWA was in duty, it has done some tangible changes in West Africa. For example, the reported some concerns about the terrorist group in Niger, Boko Haram. They also claimed that there are involvements of Boko Haram of Islamic Maghreb mission where Al- Qaida kidnapped foreigners.
