Marlyn Legaspi Primicias–Agabas (born Marlyn Legaspi Primicias, 23 July) also known as Len Agabas is a Filipina attorney, former lawyer and politician who currently serve as Member of the Philippine House of Repreentatives from Pangasinan's 6th District since June 30, 2022 and from June 30, 2010 until June 30, 2019.

Early life[edit]

Born as Marlyn Legaspi Primicias on July 23 in Tayug, Pangasinan, her father is Alex Benito Primicias and her mother is Zenaida Legaspi. Her paternal grandparents is former Senator Cipriano Primicias Sr. (1901–1965) and Miss Pangasinan Nieves Ocampo Benito. She is the niece of later Governor Cipriano Primicias Jr. (1931–2012).

Education[edit]

Marlyn studies elementary and high school in Tayug, Pangasinan. She later went to University of Santo Tomas (UST) in Manila for her college with degree of Commerce and later to San Beda College (now San Beda University) to finish her degree. Later she became a Lawyer and few years later she became license Attorney.

Early career[edit]

In 1992 elections she files her Certificate of Candidacy (COC) for town councilor of San Nicolas under the Nationalist People's Coalition (NPC) she later won being the first placer, she got 5,009 votes against to 4,906 votes of the second placer who was an Independent candidate named Josue Serquiña.

Political career[edit]

Town councilor (1992–1995)[edit]

After winning the election for councilor of San Nicolas. She serve as Councilor of San Nicolas from June 30, 1992 until June 30, 1995. As the first placer as councilor she also served as Presiding officer pro tempore of the Municipal Council. Instead running for reelection she retire for a short time.

Provincial board member (1998–2007)[edit]

After she retire in politics for a short time in 1998 elections she run for a higher position for Member of Pangasinan Provincial Board in the 6th District under the Laban ng Makabayang Masang Pilipino (LAMMP). She was running with Hugo Sansano Jr. She successfuly to win being second placer with 50,428 votes but Sansano was unsuccessfuly to win being six placer with 15,318 votes. She was reelected in 2001 elections being first placer under the Lakas ng Tao–National Union of Christian Democrats–United Muslim Democrats of the Philippines (Lakas NUCD–UMDP) and again in 2004 elections being first placer again under the Lakas–Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas–CMD), she served from June 30, 1998 until June 30, 2007

Provincial vice governor (2007–2010)[edit]

After being term-limited as Provincial Board member she run for a higher position as Vice Governor of Pangasinan under Kabalikat ng Malayang Pilipino (KAMPI) she later won via landslide votes againts to Dionisio Villar Jr. she got 525,920 votes againts 275,279 votes of Villar. She served as Vice-Governor of Pangasinan from June 30, 2007 until June 30, 2010.

Congresional career (2010–2019, since 2022)[edit]

Instead running for reelection as Vice-Governor of Pangasinan she run for Member of the Philippine House of Representatives from Pangasinan's 6th District under the Nationalist People's Coalition (NPC) she later won via landslide votes againts to Hermogenes Esperon Jr. under the Lakas–Christian Muslim Democrats and one other candidate, she got 114,523 votes againts to Esperon who got 85,069 votes. She wad reelected in 2013 elections and again in 2016 elections at the same party of Nationalist People's Coalition (NPC) and she run as unopposed to that two election. She served from June 30, 2010 until June 30, 2019.

She run again in 2022 elections and later won. She serving since June 30, 2022 and her term will end on June 30, 2025.

Personal life[edit]

She married to Atty. Tyrone Agabas and have two children namely: Tyrone Rafael and Gabriel Luis.
