Area of Improvement (AOI or A.O.I.) is a rock band founded in Ohio in early March of 2007 by Boss, Jaybee Deesee, Rap-Masta B, and Wolfstein Von Halen. They are currently working on their first album, named either Boss or Young Earth, which will feature their hits "ABC" (a parody of T.N.T.) and "Black Hawk." Boss is currently working on a song called "Julianna," and he has an idea for "Where the Hell is Taco Bell?"

Members[edit]

  • Boss- Writer of ABC, is credited with founding the band in the first place. He mainly plays drums, although he admits, "I dont know how to play the things." He is distinguised by his French film director's beret. He has been involved in a few romantic relationships before.
  • Jaybee Deesee (JB/DC)- Wrote the melodies of "ABC" and "Black Hawk," is credited with creating the bands name after his music teacher told him that there was "area for improvement" in their music. He plays guitar and piano, and is the only member that can actually read music. He has not been involved with a girl romantically.
  • Rap-Masta B- usually referred to as Master B, is credited with writing "Black Hawk" only moments after JB thought of the band's name. He plays drums with Boss and Wolfstein, in adition to being the lead singer. He is the only band member in a romantic relationship at the moment.
  • Wolfstein Von Halen- Famous for his "odd, ludicrous, goofy laughs," he is the bands main drummer. JB thinks he should grow a mullet. He has not been romantically involved yet.

DMN 17[edit]

Song Lyrics by Melody by Notes
Wikipedia Song Boss Black Sabbath A protest song meant to be sung to Iron Man, complaining about how "[the singer] got blocked today/...for copyright shit/ something 'bout the pix on [his] userpage/ guess they weren't fair use/ what the hell does fair mean?".

Trivia[edit]

  • AOI almost named themselves Krÿsa Müиchowzëи (after one of their school teachers), but they changed it at the last moment due to naming privelage difficulties.
  • The only reason the band got together was because of a school assignment where they had to write a kid's song. They almost, however, got a bad grade on it because their music teacher said it was "to loud... [and] will make the kids cry." Boss's reaction to this: "In which case, sir, these kiddies are gonna wet their pants when they hear us play."
  • AOI is having negotiations made with the Orvrix Foundation to fund the production of their deput album, Boss or Young Earth.
  • Masta B temporarily left AOI in April 2007 because "I'm not singing some gay song just to suck up to the teachers."

Influences[edit]

Rock music is the favorite genre of 3 out of the 4 members (Wolfstein likes country), and thus their music is mainly rock-oriented. AC/DC and Van Halen are the bands main influences, although a bit of Queen and Beatles does show up too (Boss is a die-hard Beatle fan).

Upcoming Events[edit]

AOI is scheduled to perform at St. Jews University Rockathon in late May, 2007 for a group of their friends and fans. They are scheduled to perform in the finale, playing "Sweet Home St. Jews."
