Maritza Rodríguez Gómez (born 1 September 1975) is a retired Colombian telenovela actress and model. Born in Barranquilla, Colombia.[1] She began her artistic career as a model and television presenter in her native Colombia.[1]

Career[edit]

Her debut as an actress took place in the genre of comedy with Dejémonos de vainas and later she had the opportunity to enter the world of telenovelas with Mascarada (1195).[1] After his success in this production, she participated in Perfume de agonía (1997), La mujer en el espejo (1997) and Marido y mujer (1999).

In 2000 she participated in La revancha playing Mercedes Riverol, this role takes her to be worthy of the International Actress award of the Telenovela magazine of Bulgaria. On Telemundo, she starred in the popular telenovela Amantes del desierto as Bárbara Santana that leads her to obtain the India Catalina Award for Best Leading Actress. Then she returns to her country to play Milagros with Gregorio Pernía in Milagros de amor, which leads her once again to obtain another recognition from the magazine TVyNovelas Colombia as Best Leading Actress. In 2004 she returned to Miami with Univisión to star in Ángel rebelde where she plays the villain Cristal Cubarrubias. In 2005 she participated in the Colombian production Vuelo 15-03. After participating in other productions, she returns with Telemundo to star in the telenovelas Pecados ajenos and Doña Bárbara. In 2008, she joined the cast of El rostro de Analía]], a Telemundo production where she played Sara.

In 2010 she works as an antagonist, playing one of her best roles, in the telenovela Perro amor as Camila Brando de Cacerés.
