Genealogical descent

The ancient Herefordshire family of Lingen with estates at Lingen, Stoke Edith and Sutton with others were descended from the Saxon chief but supporter of William I the Conquer in England, Alfred of Marlborough, Baron of Eywas and his Daughter Agnes married to Turstan de Wigmore and Lingen ( the family were also descendants of the native sovereign Kings and Princes of Wales and Princes of Powys) and firmly related to the Royal House of Tudor and descended from King John and King Edward I of England several times. HM Queen Elizebeth II has Lingen ancestry independently through the late Queen Mother. Many ancient family houses including the Dukes of Rutland, Earls of Oxford (extinct) and Lord Lingen of Lingen (Barony extinct 1905) former Permanent Sectary to Treasury have Lingen ancestors. The proven line of Dr Lingen-Stallard is traced to Catherine Lingen d 1968 and grandmother of his father Phillip Edward, with this line traced and confirmed (by geneologist Antony Adolph) to Philip Lingen of Wigmore b 1640 m firstly Catherine at Aymstsry 1666 and his second wife Martha. Wigmore is 3 miles from Lingen in Hereford and traceable land descent from the records give a very high probability of descent from William Lingen of Wigmore and his widow, a younger son of Sir John Lingen (d 1506) and his wife Lady Elizabeth de Burgh both buried at Aymestry. Sir John was knighted on the battlefield of Mortimers Cross which elevated the House of York and Edward IV to the throne (The White Queen- Phillipa Gregory novel and adapted for BBC Telivision 2013). Lady Elizabeth was a co-heiress of the Welsh princes her ancestry and descendants recorded by the welsh bard Vygan with William Lingen one of their living 16 children of this union. The Stallard Family of Worcester (Records from 1690s) and Johnson Family of Reddich (Records from 1640s) are traced and confirmed in records.
