  • Humboldtian Science- Although the term humboldtian science is a specific term I think it plays in an important role in the development of ecology and the study as a whole. Von Humboldt was one of the first people to study the relationships between species, between species and vegetation, between species and climate. This first step in the study of relationships later proves to be important to the study of ecology as a whole. Specifically studying Humboldtian science will help to gain a greater understand of where ecology came from and the direction it is going.
