I came to a remote outpost of Western Civilisation, a scientific town near Novosibirsk, when I was 15. I spent 13 wonderful years there. London was my first big city. Academgorodok where I lived before was designed by some great and pervert mind as an intricate experiment on humans, and in some respects a very cruel one, but whatever doesn't kill us makes us stronger. The same is true about London.
