Edward Cochrane McLean, Jr., known at Ted McLean (1935–2010), was a 20th-Century American litigation lawyer and partner at Chadbourne & Parke.[1][2][3]

Background[edit]

McLean was born on June 23, 1935, the son of Edward Cochrane McLean and Louise Delabarre Hunter. He attended Deerfield Academy, Princeton University (BA), and Harvard Law School (1960). He passed the bar in 1961.[1][2][3]

Career[edit]

McLean served six months in the U.S. Army.[2]

He was a litigation attorney and partner of Chadbourne & Parke from 1961 (partner, 1968) to 1994.[1][2][3]

McLean served as committee chair on administrative law from 1971 to 1972 for the American Bar Association.[3]

Personal and death[edit]

McLean served on the New Castle, New York's Planning Board, Conservation Advisory Council, and Conservation Board.[1][2]

On November 25, 1961, he married Jennifer Prescott (daughter book critic Orville Prescott) of and had two daughters and a son.[1][2][3][11]

He was a genealogist and shell collector and lived between Chappaqua, NY, and Sanibel, FL.[1][2]
