Contested deletion[edit]

@AngusWOOF: This page should not be speedy deleted as pure vandalism or a blatant hoax, because it simply states the lyrics spoken in the audio. See File:Eminem - Godzilla featuring Juice Wrld.ogg. The page on Genius has similar lyrics, and has had them for quite some time, though I didn't copy them (https://genius.com/Eminem-godzilla-lyrics).

If this is about the "Lick the Balls" statement, it's just a reference to Slick Rick's song with the same name, and not libelious. This is also noted on Genius's annotation AND on Genius's official Song Stories video on the song (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ssj0g83OfJE).

Lick The Balls is a song by Slick Rick, which Em mentions a second before. See Spotify, Google Play, Genius, etc...

I hope you consider my contestion.–ToxiBoi! (contribs) 23:40, 27 January 2020 (UTC); edited 23:51, 27 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

There is already a Godzilla (Eminem song) article. Wikipedia is not for posting lyrics WP:NOTLYRICS. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 23:41, 27 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
AngusWOOF, this is subtitles for the audio sample (File:Eminem - Godzilla featuring Juice Wrld.ogg, hence TimedText). I thought this was allowed, hence why TimedText:My_Name_Is.ogg.en.srt was accepted? I know there is already an article, but this compliments the sample featured on article. Isn't duplicate articles grounds for declination/rejection, not speedy deletion? –ToxiBoi! (contribs) 23:46, 27 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Can you point to a discussion somewhere on Wikipedia where this is planned for the Godzilla song and good to go? You can then cite that for why it should stay. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 00:08, 28 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
ToxiBoi, I canceled the CSD G3 but you need to explain where this request was made which this would fulfill. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 00:12, 28 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
AngusWOOF we do have a TimedText namespace now (not sure when it was enabled on EN WP) the only indirect mention appears to be Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Accessibility#Video found via Timed text. I'm not sure that the copyright issues of WP:NOTLYRICS apply for the same reason its ok to have 11 seconds of the file. However I can't find any other guidelines for these. I would be tempted to accept as an accessibility issue, but maybe it should be flagged for discussion on AfC talk for if we get others. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 11:28, 28 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
KylieTastic, thanks. It should maybe have an example of how to name the files. I've went ahead and accepted it but had to rename to include the ogg in it. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 14:34, 28 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
