Grouping links[edit]

Hi, let's discuss the recent changes to the grouping of the links, before it devolves into an edit war. My arguments for keeping the previous order are as follows:

  • There are no "Vivid Series" and "Force Series" distinct from the "Nanoha Series", as they are part of the three original TV seasons' continuity. Therefore, ViVid and Force entries should not be split off into separate groups.
  • The TV series and the movies are not part of the same continuity or of the same medium, therefore grouping them under a single "Nanoha Series" is erroneous and redundant, given how the whole template is about the Nanoha series.
  • Per WP:EXISTING, it is not recommended to add a whole new group for the Innocent media, before any such page exists on Wikipedia.
  • While it is not an official guideline, it is more common to structure anime/manga navboxes for multimedia franchises by medium, than by internal continuities. See, for instance, {{Gundam}}, {{Fate/stay night}}, and {{One Piece}}.

For these reasons, I contend that the template should be reverted to the old format, but I am open to counter-arguments in favor of the new one. --Koveras  09:42, 18 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

No counter-arguments have been brought forth in three days, so I am reverting the changes. --Koveras  07:25, 21 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I say its better to have it by medium than to divide it by imaginary subseries.Blue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 18:27, 21 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that the by-medium organization is the better of the two, especially since it makes the template more concise and less sprawling. G S Palmer (talkcontribs) 18:54, 21 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
