This edit put a nonbreaking space after the extinction †. The consequence was that in a taxobox like that at Saturnalia (dinosaur), there was no space between the dagger and the taxon name for the first four extinct ranks, but there was for the species. To editors Q28 and Peter coxhead: wasn't sure how to proceed with this, so I probably screwed up somehow. The entire subst. TfD template was enclosed in noinclude tags which, upon substitution, seems to have resulted in redundant no-inclusion. Should keep any superfluous text from intruding on taxobox daggers. @Peter coxhead: In response to the comments in the now closed nomination, I did not mean to imply anything needed "fixing". I was just trying to explain how the system worked to some extent (and thus the value of the item nominated) and some possible alternative implementations that might simply things and thus improve maintainability (with the possibility of how to get rid of the parts of system in question as that is what the nomination called into question). —Uzume (talk) 15:54, 7 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The "Don't edit this line XXX" templates are a core part of the automated taxobox system, and so high use, but as of January 2019, the tool did not count their transclusions, as they are only used from Lua.

Can someone create a generic warning template for this, and use it across all the documentation pages for templates so affected ? (including any that aren't taxobox/Don't edit this line templates) Ideally it would implement the functinoality of {{transclusionless}} to categorize the templates into the reporting categories for bots to ignore its lack of transclusions. -- 65.92.246.142 (talk) 00:07, 20 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
